Jeff, "Reverse Implement Operation" switch. It is the annoying safety switch on the console that one has to hold up to keep the mower deck operating in reverse. The 2000 series does not have such a "feature" and will just mow.
I call RIO switches "Lawyer Switches." The first modification I did to my L-130 lawn tractor was to jumper the dam thing and put a hole plug where the switch was.
Yes one can do this, but I personally have never been one to disengage factory safety gear. I would just prefer it not be on there to start with if not needed.
I've owned a 2305 for several years and have used it with a variety of implements. I can tell you that if I had it to do over again I would have purchased either the 2320 or 2520. The 2305 has no position control & a limited category 1 hitch. I have some difficulty getting rear implements on and off the machine even with the Quick Hitch. Trying to grade a dirt driveway without position control made this task very difficult and time consuming. The hydraulics are noticeably stronger/quicker on the 2320 and 2520. The 2305 has a plastic fan to cool the transmission while the better models have traditional cooling. They're just overall better tractors than the 2305. Trading up later is always expensive, so you're probably better off getting more tractor than you originally feel necessary.
the 2305. I would buy another with out a question we got a tractor that does all are needs my wife thinks its great right size for us we mow blow snow and till easy to get on and of .there is something out there for everybody so buy what you think you need not what others think you need.
I have a 2210- older version of 2305. Great little tractor w/ 655 tiller, LX4, BB2060 box blade. John Deere is coming out with a "1 Series" which pretty much a 2305 w/ positional 3-pt. hitch and some other features. Its worth checking out.
