Price Check JD 2305 vs Kubota BX2360

I'm in the same boat right now...between the JD 2305 and a Kubota B2320. From what I've read I don't think these should be direct comparisons because it seems like the 2305 should be compared to the BX line. I was told to stay away from the BX line because of some tranny problems. Don't know the specifics, but was told I'd be better off with a B series. This being the case, I think I should be looking at the JD 2320 as the green comparable tractor. I like the 0%-60 month financing by Kubota and I also know a Kubota diesel mechanic so this is swaying my decision.

The OP was comparing the JD2305 to a BX and whoever has told you there are transmissions is simply wrong. I looked at a B and settled on a BX as best for my needs, but a B might be better for someone else. Both JD and Kubota make excellent machines.

+1 with TrippleR. I've been hanging around for a long time, and owned a BX for a few years, and I've never heard of any transmission problems with them. Some models stopped quickly when you released the hydro pedal, just like my Simplicity does, and I expect that is what the guy that gave you the information was referring to. I agree, both the BX, and the 2305 are very good tractors. In fact I may buy another unit that size, and I would have to drive the current models of both to make up my mind....... and then it might be determined by attachments more than the tractor itself.

By the way, I think the small Masseys are great tractors too, better in some ways actually, but I can't swallow the price they get for their stuff around here.

The JD2305 is indeed a comparative tractor to the Kubota BX series. Both have little cooling fans for the transmissions. The quick stopping hydro was only on one BX model, the 50 series and has been changed. Lots of hydros have/had that propensity, so this is a "tranny problem", as that sounds like failures and this was not the case.

The JD2320 should be compared to the Kubota B2320. Each OEM does some counter punching, but also tries to find a "slot" in their very crowded line ups.

1* This fellow don't quite stand under all he knows about it.

My guess - this is an exaggeration of the "abrupt stop" issues with the BX24 and 50 series.
