Could work. I've never tried it. I know the tree stand folks have had success with foam filling their tubes. Just make sure you get the window/door version or you'll have the potential for bulging. I've popped door panels with the other stuff in my early car stereo days.

You might even have luck using pool toys or pipe insulation wrap mashed in from the ends.

Great suggestions. I had thought of the spray foam, stuffing something in is out of the question, as the ends are all closed, welded shut. I thought of technology small bead type blown in insulation, but anything inside is likely to trap moisture and facilitate rust from the inside of the tubes. As of right now, I will wait... I still plan to add gussets at the top corners, and add the limb risers, all of which will help to deaden the resonance.

You can close up the holes after the tubes are stuffed. You'll have less air trapped, and actually reduce the amount of available moisture to condense. Once the free oxygen inside the tubes is consumed and turned to oxide, the rust will cease if it truly is air tight.

So in reality, you have nothing to lose by stuffing the tubes. If you happened to ignite the stuffing, as long as it was able to be sealed off, you're only consuming that oxygen sooner yet. :)

If they were sealed, perhaps... but having seen too meny swelled pipe and tube due to water accumulation and freezing, I have drilled vent/drain holes. I am no boiler maker, and am certain water will get in some how, seems it always does... but I still might consider the spray foam idea, after I get wires for work lights fished in where I need them. But I want to finish the gussets and limb risers first.

A noise problem I ran into

I bolted my metal canopy directly to metal tabs welded to my tubing. Had engine noise/vibration really bad. Removed canopy and added strips of rubber belting between them. Helped a lot. Still noisier than no canopy but easily tolerable. After running a few days I no longer even notice it.

This has cured vibration issues for me in the past. I used a thin piece of inner tube, bicycle or car, inserted between parts. Works real well.

I will try inner tube at the lower front mounts, there should be room to do that, and still mount solidly.

Cut the piece big and after installed trim to leave maybe 1/4" all around. You can always trim more later since a little overhang helps with the sound.

I did some figuring on the limb risers today, and cut a few plates for the gussets I want to put in at the top of the front posts, to be welded in when I do the limb risers.

So nothing really visible. I did, however, use the tractor to clean out the horse stalls, and since it was raining, had to toss some old sheet metal on the top to keep a little rain off the seat and dash... cringed as I watched the water running down the fresh welds and bare metal I haven't been able to paint yet.

Been at a bit of a stand-still. Spent a few minutes brainstorming every time I go down to the barn each evening to do the feeding chores, an been stuck on how to attach the limb risers to the factory grill guard. The grill guard is narrower than the hood, which means the limb risers would have to come in at the ends. Just couldn't come up with a design I liked, and just took off the factory grill guard. I think I can build one wider and stronger just as fast, and be happier with the outcome. I plan to include some expanded metal screen for extra front protection.
