Got the limb risers welded in today, and gussets also. Aside from caps on the ends of the box tube, it's basically done.

Looking great!!!! More than ample in the strength department!!!!

Don't forget to do something about the nuts in the uprights before you camp them. Not that you would...... But I would...... Forget I mean..... :)

I took the grill guard and roll cage off today. I have a few welds at the factory ROPS connection point to finish, as they were inaccessible when mounted. Would have been lot easier to remove with out the loader on the tractor.

I need to weld some tabs on the grill guard to mount the expanded metal, and some tabs for light mounts on the top hoop. If the weather warms back up, I might be able to get some paint on it later this week.

I had hoped to spend all day today getting this finished and primered, but my wife wanted me to do some things with her this morning, and horse pasture fence demanded my attention after that... I got about half an hour to fit and weld in the caps for the limb risers. No pictures, hope to get more time in tomorrow.

Greg,
I really struggle with those distractions. When I start a shop project I breathe and live it until completion. I also believe that's a bit unhealthy, but it's me.
You are handling the pace of this project very well. I appreciate you taking the time to document it for us to view. :)

Thanks Richard...
I like to share, I know how much I use the info posted by others in my thought process, I hope what I post can be useful to others as well, if not entertaining as well.

I also can 'get lost in a project' if given the situation to do so, but life, wife, kids, work, the responsibilities of one in my position, hinder that focused attention. Not complaining, just explaining. Though I do greatly enjoy projects like this, I attempt to keep a ballance between them and the 'honey-do's' and 'must-do's' lists.

Yep. It's to our benefit to keep that "balance".

I've probably got 300 pictures I've captured on websites of various projects. Try to keep them organized in folders so I can find them when needed. Broadens one's ideas about how to accomplish something. Might not use any of other's ideas. Then again,,,, might "rob" em all. :)

I do a lot of searching as part of my design process too. I get an idea of how I think I want to do something, then go looking for how other people have done it and what their results are like. Can't tell you how many stump grinder videos, threads, sales sites, and manufacturers pages I looked at when I was building mine. It's only fair to put up some info to complete the cycle.

Yep. I'll never contribute as much to websites like this that I take away. :)

I was able to finish the grill guard today. I got nuts welded to washers, welded inside the box tube, then got the caps on.

I got some tabs for lights cut, drilled, and welded on also.

I finished welding a few other places I missed or couldn't get to before now... Ready to sand and paint once the weather warms up... or if I can use the shop at work.
