Sounds as if trans pump is bad or a brg is out on pto driveshaft

Update,
I don't know what turned loose ,but now I can start tractor and release clutch with out it stalling the engine. I have Hyd. and pto drive however there is a low growl or nocking noise coming from the trams. rear housing? Is it safe to say I should split tractor at trans/clutch area to locate problem are do you guy's have any other ideas?
