John Deere 3320
Before I go and do something I may later regret, has anyone found an easy to tap into 12 volt DC source near the rear of a JD 3320 ? I'm trying to avoid cutting into a wiring harness. I purchased a 12 volt sprayer from Northern tool which is meant for an ATV. I have a carry all and will build a shelf for it to sit on. Now I need a 12 volt supply as I am not going to run the included jumper cables all the way to the front of the tractor and attach to the battery.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

On all of the tractors I have owned, I installed a 12 volt lighter outlets on the back of them.
I ran the hot wire from the battery with an inline fuse. The wire runs to a switch on the dash & then to the rear outlet. I have a matching plug on my sprayer, so all I have to do is plug it in.

I have a 12v Herd seeder and a 12v Fimco sprayer. Use both of them on our 4 wheeler. I bought a small 12 volt battery to operate them......and use a rubber strap to hold it to one of the racks. Works good for low-use purposes.

Because we use these 12v wonders on two different 4 wheelers and a golf cart.....having a "portable 12v source" works for us.

Don't know if this applies to your (presumably) open station 3320. But my 3720 cab has a 12v socket (cigarette lighter style) at the rear of the left side console within just inches of the rear window. If you have one too, all you'd need is one of these:

A few years back, I had this same question I think so i'll pass on what I was told would work. There are many more members that are a lot more knowledgable than me on all things tractors, but i'll try to pass on what information I was given that helped me. There are a couple of sets of wires on the back below the seat that are open ended and have plugs in the end of them. Traditionally i believe they are used for rear work lights. i hooked one worklight up and used a separate on/off switch I installed on the console. The wire you want is purple. Put a male end on the hot supply for the sprayer and plug it into the purple wire female plug on the back of the tractor. The ground on the sprayer I just clamp to the back of the tractor. When you want to use the sprayer you just need to turn your lights on. That's what has worked for my sprayer.

Ray I don't know what kind of sprayer you have but mine is a Fimco boomless sprayer(about a 3 FT boom and three nozzles that covers about 30 ft wide when spraying). Mine has a 11 amp motor and if the pump isn't running all the time it pulls more than that when pulsing. Cigarette lighter wiring isn't heavy enough if your is similar. I mounted mine on a carryall with some 4X4's to raise it high enough. I ran 10 gauge wire to battery with fuse at battery. Put a relay at back of tractor and a trailer 2 prong connector that looks like half of the regular 4 prong connector to hook to sprayer. Ran wires into cab to a switch that I bought at JD dealer and put into a switch opening in right side console.
Some of the sprayers use a smaller motor so check the tag on the motor. Also set sprayer to run solid and not pulse spray. I can't tell what mine is doing all the time because I can't hear it in the cab but I have popped several 20 amp fuses when I don't have it set right.
Good luck
Paul

FYI, that's actually 10ga wire in the photo above. Perhaps you don't realize how many amps a cigarette lighter actually pulls. The receptacle is usually designed to provide 15A, and fused for 20A

You can get these down to a 10G wire size. Double duty of what you would need.
