Any performance problems 3320? They tell me it will be as good as my 4300?? I have gang mowers and the new weighs 500 pounds less with narrow tires!
Any help there??

The 4300 was a good tractor as well. What transmission do you have in the 4300?

Whether is is "as good as a 4300" would depend what you use it for. You are going down a frame size class. This may be good or bad, depending on your situation. I certainly would not expect a 3320 and a 4300 to be equivalent tractors.

I think you're thinking of the new 4x20 series machines. The 4300 was sold about 10 years ago.
Power, size and weight, it is very similar to the 3320.

Both the 4300 and 3320 weigh in at 2900 lbs (no loader). Where did you get that 500 lbs less weight figure?

I probably was confused. I thought the 4300 was the bottom end, in the size range that includes my 4600. JD's older 4000 series models are confusing, compared with the more current progression of 1000's, 2000's, 3000's, 4000's, etc. I think I have one of the brochures on the older 4000's. I guess I'll pull it out and try to re-educate myself a bit.

I GOT THE WEIGHT OFF LINE. I AM GOING TO LOOK AT THE NEW ONE SATURDAY AND HOPE I AM NOT DISAPOINTED!!

Yup. I just checked the brochures and confirmed what Roy said. Sorry If I caused any confusion.

The 4500, 4600 and 4700 are in the approximate size range as the 4x20's, but the other 4x00's are smaller.

I try not to "tell more than I know," but it looks like I did this time.

I don't think you will be...you'll recognize the fenders (carry overs from the older tractors). I think you'll like the newer loader more then the 420 or 430 you may have on your 4300.
What I'm not sure you'll like is all the electronics on the 3320. You had little or no electronics on your 4300.
I'd tried out a 3320 with the reverser transmission several years ago. I really liked the machine, but I'm not a real big fan of all the electronics.

Almost 4200 hours!!! That's a testament to the 4300!!!

I BOUGHT THE SYNC REVERSER MODEL 11 YEARS AGO. IT SOUNDED LIKE IT HAD MARBLES IN THE REAR END. AFTER THE DEALER SPLIT IT 3 TIMES, I TOLD HIM ONE SATURDAY MORNING " I AM ON MY WAY TO YOU DRIVING THE TRACTOR AND 5 GALLONS OF GAS. WHEN I GET THERE, I WILL PUT THE GAS ON THE MACHINE AND FIRE IT UP!" WELL, HE TOLD ME TO TAKE WHAT EVER TRACTOR I WANTED IF I DIDN'T DO THAT. HE KNOWS ME AND KNEW I WASN'T KIDDING! THAT'S HOW I WOUND UP WITH THE HST!!

My 4400 has the sync-reverser...Deere must have left the marbles out of this one though.

BTW, Internet etiquette is to not use all capital letters (which you did not do in your first post). All caps signify shouting...

Richard,
Are you buying new? Seems like you would go with R3 turf tires and wheels.
Other than that the tractors seem to be very close in ratings and specs.
