JD 3520 rear remotes

Thought I should post some pictures for everyone since I found it so helpful to look at everyone elses.

I Installed a power beyond kit from JD for $350 and Have about $500 in the rest of it with the wolverine 2 spool valve. I opted to go with 1/4" fittings since I didn't need much flow. I plan to use them for 2" cylinders and found that 1/4" is a good speed for those smaller cylinders that you want for the finess movements.

Now I just need to add a chute deflector to the snow blower.

How difficult was the installation of the power beyond kit?
What parts do you have to remove from the tractor, to access the valve area?

You have to remove the seat and the plastic cover that goes around all the levers......PITA. Save some patience for it. You have to remove just about all the lever ends as well to make an attempt to get that cover off.

Thanks for the description. I was afraid the fender and wheel would also have to come off. It sure looks tight in there. Based on your info, I feel more confident about attempting an installation myself. Thanks again!

Unless it's the angle in your photo, it looks to me like the two valve control levers for your remotes are aft of the seat. Is this true? If so, you'll need to be triple-jointed to reach them

My triple rear remotes are located on the right fender of my 2008 Mahindra 5525 with the valve levers at a convenient location. Love those flat top fenders.

They are aft of the seat and are 1/4" couplers on purpose. I already have a 3rd function outlet on the back for things such as loader implements or other things I don't need to look backward for. The other spool valve is the 4th and 5th function on my tractor. I use it for the PTO snow blower or Top N Tilt. Both things I am cranked around in the seat looking backward to so specific adjustments. With those levers being where they are they are right at my fingertips instead of reaching back by the loader where I am not looking. That is what works for my needs. They are out of the way when riding on the tractor and when hooking things up in the back they are right there to adjust. This is really nice when hooking up T-N-T to implements. The ｼ couplers help the cylinders move slower to make finite adjustments otherwise the ｽ inch 3rd function pushes 2 cylinders so fast.

just make sure you have some larger wrenches to make the connections. Around 1-1 1/4". some people use crow foot wrenchs but I was able to get it done with a cresent wrench........but don't tell my wife that or she won't let me get more tools.

I am interested in getting a set up like that for my 3520. I too would like to be able to put the hydraulic 3 point hitch links and have the option to have a setup for a wood splitter or something else. My tractor did not come with any the optional mid pto but does have a loader. Does that make any difference in the installation process?

No sorry, the mid mount PTO and loader has nothing to do with the hydraulics in the rear for the most part. You need to install a power beyond kit if you haven't already. This is the first step in a complicated process. If this doesn't seem like anything you want to tackle you could always run the splitter off any of the loader remotes or if you have a rear remote.

Thanks for the info. I am still nursing my current splitter along that is self contained but was trying to think a head a little. I do not have a rear remote either and would like to have one as well. So I guess I will need 6 connections total if I want 1 spare set right? I would like to install hydraulic cylinders eventually on the top link and vertical links of the 3 point hitch and then have another set of remotes for possibly something like a splitter in the future. I figure get it all done once so I will be good to go. Does that make sense.

I agree with bubbacuse77, start out with the JD power beyond kit. Once that is installed, everything else is so much easier. I advise getting at a minimum of 3 rear sets of remotes with at a minimum of 1 of those having the float function. I normally sell my valve sets with 2 float function valves for the top and tilt sets. As far as the 3rd set, always good to have that extra set for use with an implement hydraulic.

Just for your info, current cost for a complete top & tilt set for your 3520 runs $635. That is 2 1/2" dia cylinders with 1 1/2" dia rods, top link, side link with std lower clevis, hoses with male QD ends and flow restrictors. this gives everyone something to compare to.
