Reversing the wires on a speaker will "blow" them in the long term.
Negative MUST go to negative and Pos to Pos.
This is how you tell what leg is positive and negative on a speaker,,.....
take a 9 volt battery, (the smoke detector kind) attach a wire from neg and one from pos
on the battery, now touch those two wires to the speaker,
one on each leg, (just "short" touches as not to damage the speaker)
the speaker MUST extend "outwards" as you touch them, NOT inwards.
When they extend outwards, you have now found the correct polarity of that speaker.
