Good Luck with it - I'll be interested to hear how well you do with the boxblade.

Am I ever glad to see the growing clan 70 and 90 series owners! Out with the new style in with the old!

Nice to know the 790 rates well. I'm looking at a low hours used one today. I didn't start out looking for a JD, but 3 used ones with low hours reasonably priced turned up in the area, a 770 which sold before I could look at it, then an 855 which turned out to not be equipped quite like I wanted and now this 790 with 370 hours on it. I understand the Yanmar engines are very durable. The 855 is a hydro and the 7s are gear but I don't really have a preference and the 27 hp of the 790 in a manageable sized package is vey attractive.
Harley, enjoy your new tool/toy.

Well, in about 15 years the new I69 interstate will be finished. They have only been talking about it for the last 15 years.

I finally hooked up a landscape rake to the tractor. That implement is wonderful! It saved me so much time. The thought of having to go around and pick up all those twigs and branches almost made me want to not do this project. A friend suggested the 5' rake and it worked perfect. Tomorrow I get to start using the box blade. I am a little nervous after reading how difficult it can be to use it effectively. I guess I will find out soon enough. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am a 'true' westsider. I bought my 790 at Stephan's last spring. I think I got a great deal. Do you have land in Eville?

This is now tomorrow. Did you buy that used 790. Not only are this series tractors durable, for a first time tractor owner (770) I found it vary easy to learn on and very fuel efficient. Mine is rated at 25.5 gross hp, 24 net and 20 PTO from 83 cu.in. It is advertised to burn a gallon an hour, but I use more like .6 -.7 gallons per hour. If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy the same tractor without question. The 790's got to be even better.

I have about 6 acres up in St. Joe area. I worked for about 5 hrs today using the landscape rake and then the box blade spreading out a dirt pile so it would dry out some. I have three more days to finish and get the grass seed down. I hope the rain holds off. What area do you live in Mark?

Joe I bought a new 790 and I don't have one complaint about the tractor. It has done almost everything I have tried to do. It only complained a little when I tried to take too big a bite out of the dirt pile with the box blade. Other then that it worked great. I'm glad you like your tractor. I can see why you do. I seem to be getting pretty good hours out of my fuel too.
