I've bought equipment before like Medical Vacuum pumps and the warranty is 1 year... but in no case will the warranty extend more than 2 days from date of manufacture.
All Deere equipment I have bought starts the warranty on the day I take possession of it. Same with most other warranties on products, can't think of any to the contrary right now.
I agree that it's the dealer over Deere. My local Deere dealer always charges whatever MSRP you see on Deeres site. I do get the GreenFleet and Veteran discounts, but it pays to shop around some for sure
