( What is with the JD Dealer Bashing )

My guess is if someone is bashing a dealer.. they got cruddy service.. like I encountered. Actually, I got -NO- service at one dealer.. as they claimed to not carry the stuff, and said they couldn't order it. Which we know is a lie.. as the other dealer, at least offered to order it in bulk, after huffing over to the computer and angrilly pecking away at it as if I was bothering them. So that left me with no service, and poor service.... This isn't a color specific issue. i'm quite sure anyone getting bad service from ANY dealer is going to report/gripe about it.

Everyone is entitled to there opinions and the freedom to express them, thats what makes this country so great. But there are always those narrow minded individuals who have to resort to name calling because someone disagrees or has a different opinion than their own. There are good and bad dealers with every manufacturer I'm sure. The guys with all the combines have an excellent parts department and have been extremely helpful with locating parts for my 44B. They just aren't big on selling small tractors.

Thanks for you thoughts, have a nice day.

WEED WACKERS ARE YELLOW

Ron:

I very distinctly disagree with this statement.

Around here

" The Weedwacker "

is a tired old man coloured in sweat and dirt just lookin forward to getting his backside into a comfortable chair and hydrating fluid into a glass.

Steve your comments about the Dealer who does a good job, but isn't right for your needs is exactly what I'm talking about. I hope you realize that I was kidding when I said that Kubota owners were dolts, I don't believe that at all! But my local orange dealer is a dud, so in my case I have more incentive to look at green where I am very happy. In the next neighborhood, the tables can be reversed...

But this tread is about Deere & Co. being "too big for its britches" because a customer doesn't feel that he is receiving service. But these dealers aren't Deere. And for some reason, the dealer in question do not see him in the same light as his NH dealer, where he has made significant purchases.

A customer has every right to rake his business elsewhere, a dealer has a similar right to keep his service where it helps him. Soundguy has a right to post about his dissatisfaction, but without hearing both sides, we don't have the full story, and shouldn't patently accept his conclusion.

It is hard to understand why any dealer would be impatient or impolite to any customer considering there markup on their products. Have you ever seen a poor one??????????

Yes I've seen several. I've also watched countless ag dealers go bankrupt over the last 30 years. All of the dealers in our area are branch stores. The dealers who have survived have consolidated a # of stores into one or two if they didn't all go under. Even the local Kubota dealer went belly up two years ago.

1. The profitability might not be nearly as great as one imagines.

2. The costs associated may be more than one imagines.

3. Pereto's principle.

The dealers went out of business because they lost so many customers(farmers) because of high operating costs, etc. You will not get any tears from me about dealers. You pay dearly for their products. Broken any parts on your tractor while harvesting lately? They are extremely lucky to get a franchise! I do not think they worry about the weather, broken parts, low prices. Give me a brake /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

When shoppping for my tractor, I called 5 different dealers. 3 of the dealers were Kubota and 2 were Deere. The 2 Deere dealers and 2 of the Kubota dealers seemed put off by asking questions. The 3rd Kubota dealer was very helpful and thus is who I visited and ended up buying my tractor from. With that being said, maybe the 4 dealers I didn't get good vibes from were actually better dealers than the one I got my machine from, but were either really busy that day or just having a bad day. Actually I also tried giving them all a 2nd chance and pretty much got the same response but that is not to say they are a bad dealer, just not one for me. Customer Service is in the eye of the Customer. Some expect more service than others. While there isn't a correct amount of customer service, the dealer should strive to meet the customer's expectations.
Just like here on the board, Muhammed and the rest of the guys are always welcoming comments on improvements to the board. They are also very responsive to issues that affect the board. Just think you get this customer service and we aren't even buying anything from him.
