Installing a septic system I would look at renting a excavator I知 getting a Bob Cat EX85 from Sun Belt rentals for 7 days for $2,089.00 I bought a Kubota L4701 with a BH 92 back hoe it was a $5800.00.I would look at all options just my opinion.Im renting an excavator because I took a couple hundred trees out with the 4701 did an awesome job the tractor has impressed me for it痴 size but I知 going to burn and want excavator with a thumb to tighten and heighten my pile and stoke the fire.

You’d be going backwards at least in my area. It’s not 2k labor to get one put in. You don’t need a 85 machine either. A 5 ton machine is plenty.

Locally you can get one put in for $4-4500 including materials. The materials cost more than half. The tank itself is $900 for plastic or $700 for concrete. A permit is $500. Gravel is $350 for 22 tons delivered. You’ll probably need a big truck and a single axel truck load. Pipe is about $175 for preferred pipe plus the schedule 40 crossovers. That’s assuming 250 foot of fill line. If you’re using a chamber system that’s hardly ever done here you can cut the material cost and label substantially. You should be able to get everything installed in a day easily.
