Just got my jerky 3ph fixed also. I purchased an L3700SU in late 2010 and the 3ph was jerky from the start. This past summer I used the tractor to dig approx 100 post holes. While raising the post hole digger out of each hole ,the digger would start oscillating up and down on the 3ph and would not stop until I grabbed hold of the digger and physically damped the oscillation until it stopped. I finally got around to taking the tractor to my local dealer last weekend to have them look at the 3ph and just picked it up today. I can now raise the 3ph as slow as possible with bush hog attached and it's smooth as butter. Dealer says that they adjusted the linkage and the 3ph valve.

Steven, seems you had it worst then most. Glad to hear it *can* be adjusted. Would really be nice to see/hear step by step instructions on how to do it...

hi guys I bought a m5640sud in aug this year and tried to attach a dirt scoop to the arms an d almost lost a hand when my wife moved the lever for me just like we always did with the 8n to line things up then i tried to use my phd and did that jump around then i found out that economy models seem to have jumpy 3pt I dont think that a 30,000 dollar tractor was a economy model!!! I have heard that the controll valve spool can have the sharp edge slightly raidused 20-30- thousandths to alieve some of the hammer issues but the only way to alieve the critical adjustment issue is to add a adjustable priority controll valve to the power in side of the hitch valve therefor limiting the gpm of the feed to the valve but not the hitch. in other words to slow down the hydraulic action so that the feedbackmechanicals can catch up . the problem is that a valve that has atapering off effect of hydro flow is much more $$$$$ than the economy valve.

A couple of differences I now observe in my 3ph operation are as follows:

-the 3ph control handle is much easier to move up and down. I believe that to be due to whatever "adjustments they made in the linkage.

- whenever my bush hog is not all the way down and I start the tractor, as soon as the tractor starts the implement immediately raises up a few inches. It did not do this prior to having this work done so I'm guessing that this is due to the valve adjustments that were made.

I will be bringing mine in as well to have it looked at and hopefully fixed. Mine is quite jumpy especially using a boom pole. Actually its dangerous.

So i contacted my dealer today and will be bringing my l3200 in possibly this week to have them look at it. Do any of yall have any information that I may need to bring to the dealer's attention? Specifically parts or part numbers that may fix the problem or adjustments? I told them that this is a common problem with the std L's and as usual "We haven't heard of this problem".They did say they would be willing to fix the tractor even if it means using parts from other models that will eliminate the issue.
