Does anyone know if crimp fittings are available for jinma backhoe type hoses? If I remember correctly they are an 8 mm thread for an o- ring face seal.(the o-ring is on the male threaded part fitting - the cylinders in this case. I am trying to avoid fabricating my own adapters.

I think they are bigger than 8MM. If I recall, they are 18MM... I havn't had any luck in my searching for a compatible metric ORFS connectors or adapters.

The valve on my hoe uses a straight metric to ORFS adapter on all the ports. I can source all kinds of adapters to this straight metric port locally. I have pretty much resigned myself, that if I need a hose that I can't get from a dealer, that I will us a metric to SAE adapter at the valve, a SAE off the shelf hose, and weld a SAE fitting to the cylinder...

Good luck

Thanks guys
That looks like what I need. I am going to order and see.

There is also one that has male 18x1.5 threads x #8 male JIC.
I think either one is about $20.00 a pop.

Bob, do you have a part number for this one?

Has anyone actually used a 9022F? The description on the Adaptall website says it is a swivel, but when you click on the part number for a description, it says and shows a sloid fitting adapter. Is it actually a swivel fitting? I don't know how well a solid adapter would work. As I understand it, an O ring face seal is sandwitched between a flanged swivel connection, and a flat faced male metric fitting with a limiting groove or lip machined into the face. The clamp force is applied by the threaded collar over the flange and screwed onto the male threads. Using a solid adapter, the faces will be rotating as final torque is applied, and "O" ring might not like this situation...

Yes, I used several of them awhile back when I converted all of my hydraulic valves. I'l dig through my paperwork and get the P/N.

I guess they call them a swivel because they can (I gave up trying to educate); some industry folks (me included) refer to them as a half-union because each end is one-half of a complete union of it's respective type.

Incidentally, the male x male adapter doesn't have an O-ring relief; I just used a copper washer - works great.

Actually, that's exzctly how it works. Use silicone lube on the O-ring. Not a big deal.
And yes, they are solid.

You can also get the 9022F metric face seal adapter at www.discounthydraulichose.com

We offer all of the Adaptall metric fittings at 10% to 15% below list price, and we stock a large number of them for same day shipping. We also carry hydraulic hose, quick disconnect couplers, and all of the other other fittings and adapters you to maintain your hydraulic equipment.

Well, I searched through my receipts and could not find where I purchased a male x male adapter. The ones I had must have came with the tractor.

Some of you know the 9022F converts the 18mm male ORFS to a Jic 8 male.

By me trying to help owners with replacement aftermarket hoses for the China Backhoes ..... I feel /felt that the Jic 8 is to big / bulky especially up at the control valve.

I am having some of these adaptors being made as I type that will adapt it the a Jic 6. I hope to have the first run in about two weeks ??

I will be able to provide the adaptors only or adaptors with aftermarket 2 wire replacement hoses.

Anybody that has any interest can email me through my web site Jinma Dealer, Wood Chipper , Compact Jinma Tractors . Put 18MMXJIC6 in the subject line and I will let you know more as I do.

Ronald, I agree with you. I had always felt that the #8 was too big for the hoe since it is 1/2" ID.
#6 (3/8") would be optimum given the OEM pump's GPM output.

As you probably are aware, LiTW hoes use #4 (1/4") hoses and fittings. I think it is one of their engineering features that helps to seemingly dampen the jerky valve motions, aside from having better valves too.

Would switching to a #6 or #4 hose reduce the jerking of the hoe and would it still perform properly?

Thanks

From what I have seen so far (my opinion) the biggest reason for the jerky /un-smooth operation that some have / experiance is that the spool valves are to loose in it's bore ...... a to loose machining tolerance.

The factory adaptors between the valve body and the hose have a orifice machined in them that goes to each cylinder.

A #4 hose would have a lower flow rate with a higher pressure and a #6 hose would have a higher flow rate with less pressure. A good control valve makes a world of differance.

Our first adaptors has just been recently made and tested.

We have started a page on our web site that is under construction.

I will be receiving with in the next 7 - 10 days adaptors available for purchase.

These adaptors will allow you to up-grade / replace the hydraulic hoses and replace the control hydraulic valve with a quality aftermarket valve if you choose.

I made my own adapters a couple years ago to JIC. If you look at the hose pic you can see why they come apart. The hose was only inserted half way.
