Tractor King 200 (JM-200)
Went out to get a little seat time today. Tractor started as expected. Went to raise the BB up and and...nothing.

Got off and did some checking. There was a 'tube' with a banjo type fitting going into a block underneath the seat that had a very loose bolt in it. The block all the way down to the ground was covered in what I would call hydraulic fluid. There was also a 18" diameter spill on the ground underneath the tractor.

I am thinking that I lost some of the fluid while working the tractor last Sunday. Would more have run out of this loose fitting?

Also, I am not sure exactly which fitting to pull to refill with what fluid and to what level it needs to be filled to.

Like I have said...I have -0- tractor experience so any help is appreciated.

Tighten everything up and refill the lift box at the vented plug on top of the lift box and behind the seat. there is usuall y a dip stick if not fill to about 3 inches below the cap. overfilling will result in leaking out the vented cap when you go up a hill or load on a trailer...

Was that loose banjo bolt on the side of the lift box? If so, it was the return line from the diverter valve and power steering(if so equiped). If this is loose, you probably lost most all of your hydraulic fluid and the pump is sucking air. The Re-fill plug is most likley on the top rear of the lift box assy under/behind the seat.

As to what fluid to put in, it would help to know what fluid was in there to start with. If you search this Chinese forum for "lubricants" you will come up with several reccomendations. I personally run AW32 Hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic system on my 284. If you don't know what is in there now, probably best to drain what is left and then re-fill.

You stated that you were going to lift the box blade and nothing moved, then there may have blown the o-ring which is under that block under the seat. i did this due to the block not being tight. it is easy to fix the spare parts that came with mine had one of the right sized o-rings. mine shot fluid UP and onto my lap so I knew it when it hapened /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif the hyd fluid is filled behind the seat with a red plug on top of the hyd fluid case. like others said drain & refill with same new fluid, AWE 32 HYD FLUID, or universal tractor fluid will work. others even use ATF which is fine as well... these are beastie tractors and will run with water in there as long as it holds off the rust... be carefull with the air in the system it can damage the pump so don't run it dry. under the seat, (have to remove the seat) is the hyd filter under a 3 bolt cap where the main hyd line comes out, these can colapse with the 30 weight china oil in there so maybe worth pulling the cover & flushing since you lost much of the fluid...

anyhow everyone will help when you need to ask a question you will get 10 good answers and possably a bad one or two /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks for all the help folks. Here's what I did.

I went to a local Southern States and picked up a 2 1/2 gallon jug of hydraulic fluid.

Went to the tractor and tightened the bajo bolt. From my experience with race car brakes (alot of those use banjo fittings) if the bolt is loose you loose a fluid.

Anyhow then I located the fill cap/vent/dipstick. It took at least 1 to 1 1/2 gallons to fill it up. Cranked the tractor and the hitch raised right up. Worked the steering a few cranks also. She her down then topped off the fluid again.

She worked and ran fine the rest of the afternoon.

After I ran her awhile, Itook some advise from a few other post's and went over EVERY SINGLE BOLT AND NUT. I also found a grease fitting that had been broke off. Found where to fix that in another thread. (This sight is a lifesaver.)

Didn't stop there. Checked all the other fluids and the oil was a little below the low line on the dipstick. Topped it off.

Again thanks for the insight and help and maybe someday I will be able to return the favor.

Put 3 hours on her today spreading 20 tons of #4 rock in the new driveway. Get to play with a small Kamatsu track-hoe this weekend digging a footer for the new garage.

Thanks again. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Glad you got it worked out. By the way: Be sure to change your engine oil between 30 and absolutely before 50 hours.
