I've been looking at the 1025R and the BX2370 I could live with either. I've gotten quotes on both with a 60" deck and loader, I added the quick connect to the BX FEL. The out the door price for the 1025R is $16400 and the BX2370 is $15000 out the door. My question is, can I get a better deal than what they're offering me? Second question is the John Deere worth $1400 more that the Kubota? I'm leaning towards the Bota. Both tractors have things I like, the Kubota has real smooth hydraulics and seems solid, I like the loader valve location and drive over deck on the Deere better. Please let me know your thoughts, if you don't want to put #s on the open forum, shoot me a PM. Thanks

For Kubota, most folks get a quote from Barlow's Kubota in KY. The reason is that even with delivery, the price is often as good or better than local quotes. The other purpose in getting a Barlow's quote is that they give you a no nonsense, bottom line, "here's our best price" quote. Armed with that number, folks then ask themselves if their local dealer is doing right by them.

I've always done this. If my local dealer(s) can get within $300? I'll buy local, sure. But, for a $1000? I'd have Barlow's bring me one or I'd bring one home myself. I get down to their neck of the woods a few times a year.

You won't go wrong with either Orange or Green. I've tried on a couple of occasions to buy Green, but always end up with Orange and I now just flat out love those 'Bota tractors. Solid indeed.

When I was looking at these sized tractors a couple years ago, the Deere 1-series was more expensive than the Kubota back then too. They are both good tractors, but I think the Kubota is a better value (plus I don't like the plastic bodywork on the Deere). I own a Deere myself, as well as a Kubota, and consider myself balanced with opinion, but the Deere 1-series definitely seemed pricey to me compared to competing tractors.

I'll call Barlow's on Monday. Has anyone here ever dealt with Messick's?

I have dealt with messicks for some things. I have also shopped the Kabota line there and they seem like a good place to deal with. I received a quote that was very reasonable and in line with most folks here who got a good deal other places. When compared to quotes given me at other places within my shopping range messicks was much better and worth the extra couple miles it took to get there.

Just bought a bota BX2370 for this summer and it's replacing a Troy Bilt GX 20 that i dearly loved. The Troy Bilt is the modern Bolens Hydro. i had a front mounted blower and a blade for the TB as well as a 48" deck. I didn't take good care of the deck and it rusted out. Couldn"t find a replacement. Everything I looked at was "junk" in my opinion and there was a lot of green in that decision. A $6000 lawn tractor with green paint and pressed on rear
wheels is not what I was looking for. Then the JD dealer's nonchalant approach to selling me a "good" little diesel SCUT put me right off, I went to my local Bota dealer. Good work orange and a very nice machine. I bought a BX2370 and found it to be far more machine than I had originally imagined.

I bought a Kubota B3030 w/FEL403, 60" MMM, Balast box, from Messick's in 2007. I still have the tractor (500hrs) and it is a great machine. At the time I was deciding between a NH TC30 and the Kubota. The sales person at Messicks recommended the Kubota over the NH even though they sold both tractors. I think I made the right choice although the NH TC30 is also a great tractor. Anyway, Messick's gave me the best price out of the other dealerships in my area, NE Pa. and they were very professional and honest with their sales approach. I respect that in any dealership.

I went through the same dilemma last May, and ended up with the last BX2360 my dealer had on the lot. The only important positive aspect I found with the Deere was the QA drive-over deck. The Kubota seems to slightly edge-out the Deere in the other functional categories. Axle capacity, extra clearance, metal body parts, etc. (I don't consider the height of the ROPS an issue, as the variables involved in a rollover would make the outcome unpredictable with either model, and the BX70 series addressed it anyway.) I gave up a few creature comforts for the extra piece-of-mind. Having said that, I don't think the Deere is inferior. If I had to buy over again, I'd still buy th BX.

Not too long ago, I bought the Land Pride grapple, and I'm very happy with it. That item is not yet available for any of the other subcompacts. That may or may not matter to you, just throwing it out there.

Watch this video it makes many valid points.

The 1 sereis has a limited cat 1 hitch and the BX has a cat 1 hitch. That is another big advantage IMO.
