moron alert, oh wait its me. I was baling this evening, boy what a bad year it is going to be. 2 years ago one of my little fields had 80 bales last year 45 this year 20 bales of oat hay. rain stopped and everything is dying so time to cut. oh back to the story, so i tightened the compressor screws on the bail chamber i guess too tight cause one side broke the spring. so if i find a new spring(any hints) what is the starting point fo adjusting them? thanks jon

You can get a new spring at your friendly JD dealer 247SE EXTENSION SPRING, ADD 62.73 USD. The springs set the weight of the bale so the only starting point is to get both springs adjusted evenly then tighten/loosen springs for correct weight of bales depending on moisture content & type of hay.
