Murph, I really don't feel like getting into this, but my ankles are already wet so I'm jumping all the way in.
100% of tractors will have problems, I don't always have time to fix it myself and with Deere's expansive part network if the dealer doesn't have a part they will usually overnight.
I compared, and yes I paid more than some other brands, but I found that although I paid more upfront I get more in resale down the road, so it really makes up for it.
I don't have a "problem" with any tractor, I find them all to have their own strengths and weaknesses, but a tractor brand can give you good service and bad service. I've had the best luck with Deere. I almost bought a Kioti 13 years ago as it was equally good of a tractor but it lacked the support, and since that dealer has shut down, so I believe I made a good decision.
