As I've pointed out many times (maybe too many /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif), you probably don't want to put too much stock in the horsepower claims, as the HP curves can vary so widely, and also differ in terms of continuous and/or intermittent HP availability (not to mention whether the HP is what you expect at PTO RPM as an example). You're much better off comparing the displacement of the engines, and looking at the torque curves for the engines (which will follow the displacement very closely).
I haven't found any detailed information on the Deere units that have been discussed here, but if I were comparing these machines for available power, that is the method I would choose.
