OK I finally got time to put the tester on the forward clutch test port. #29 and started it and put it in forward and gauge barely moved. Checked port # 31 reverse port and only got 90 PSI and it's suppose to be around 160 so I think I have a problem there. Do you think it's the clutch packs or could it be something else.
Thanks

Problem could be in shift valve but more that likely clutch fwd circuit or pack. Have you checked shift linkage to be sure linkage is completely shifting valve?

Yes I have looked at the linkage and pins and they are alright' I took the pin out and tried to shift it by hand to see if it made a difference and it did not. I will take the shift valve apart and look at that but do you think it is the clutch packs.
Thanks

Yes more than likely failed sealing rings

OK Thanks
Is there anything else I should check out first to make sure before I split the backhoe and check the clutch packs.

Ok I had a chance to split my backhoe and I'm going to take a look at the clutch packs but after I split it I notice the end of the gear shifter shaft has a peace broke off the notch where the shifter goes in would this stop the backhoe from moving forward or do you still think it's the forward clutch pack.
Here is a couple pictures so you can see what I'm talking about.

Broken tab on shift rail might keep trans from shifting into high range but tractor should still move fwd in low range if fwd clutch pack is operating correctly. I've seen several of those tabs broken off. Some have been welded back in place.

Thanks for your reply Jim
That is what I was thinking that it should still move forward in high or low at least one of them but it hardly move in forward with throttle wide open but it will move in reverse I think it's still the forward clutch pack but I thought I would put this up here just to make sure before take the clutch packs out and spend my money on new clutch packs.
Thanks again
Jack

I wonder if failed clutch packs caused low oil pressure ? Or did low oil pressure cause the clutch packs to fail?

Well I got the clutch packs out today and the reverse pack isn't to bad but I will still probable change them because I have them out.

I took the Forward clutch pack out and it is bad' 2 clutch pad are burnt up and the 3 one is all most gone and the plates & big washers are burnt and warped.
