Thanks everyone for your responses.
i apologize regarding I am new to this.
I posted photos which are at the bottom of the post. Sorry the photos are at the bottom of the post.

Kenny D~
I'm confused Bonnie, please clarify...
You have a front end loader (FEL) correct?
If so, the spools #1 and #2 are used for the that, lift/lower (joystick up/down) and dump/curl (joystick left/right).
You say you have the "top" or a hydraulic top link (HTL) already, so what is it plugged into and how do you control it now?
I am sorry I did not clarify for you, we do have a front loader.
In the photos #4 & #5 I posted This is how the top is controlled now.

Regarding the "top" you can take a look at photos #1 & #2. Is this the actual HTL? or is that something else we would have to purchase?

JD855~
Mid PTO was an option. Not all the 4310s had a mid PTO. Mine doesn't. Does your tractor have the mid PTO splined shaft underneath? Does it have the second yellow knob on the right fender?
Photo #7 is for the MID PTO shaft underneath. Photo #8 is the yellow knob on the right fender, this was actually discovered & found underneath the console for some reason.

The tractor was in a flood we found out, & really dirty when we bought it

Ok, thanks for clearing this up...
You do indeed have an HTL, and it is being controlled by the optional 3rd SCV kit already installed.
So if you now want to add the Tilt or hydraulic side link (HSL) then you will need another remote (SCV or Selective Control Valve) to operate it since your 3rd is being used. Or, as I mentioned above, you can add a "diverter" to split that single remote into two.

I could not find the picture of the mid PTO splined shaft, but did see the one of the block marked MIDPTO.
I ASSUME it (Mid PTO) was causing a problem, maybe blowing fuses? So former owner cut the wires (I think in that picture right at the connector) and removed the switch.
Floods are very hard on electrical systems. The Mid PTO solenoid could be bad, the Mid PTO switch could be bad, connector(s) could be corroded. Fixing it depends if you need it.

Your picture does show a HTL (which Kenny confirmed) and you do have a rear SCV and control lever (not the loader joystick) which Kenny also confirmed.

If you need more rear SCVs you have many choices:
Remove loader and connect to it's couplers
Add a diverter (electrically lets you "divert" hydraulic to something else) You can only use one of the two choices at any given time.
Add power beyond, connect it to one or more sdditional SCVs

I also don't see the splined mid pto shaft in the photo but I will take your word for it.

As I said on the snipped wires this appears to be a plug JD uses to keep dirt out of the unused weatherpack connections. Probably not something someone cut the wires on. I have a couple on my tractor also and all my accessories are working.

I assume the snipped wires you are referring to are the ones I placed an arrow at.

Here is one on my 4310 that I believe is the same one you see on your tractor.

Here is another one I have at the rear of my tractor.

My 4410 has the mid PTO, so both switches. My 4210 only the rear PTO. It has the same switch buried under the RHS console same as yours. I suspect they use it as a jumper for some reason. I don't think you have the mid PTO, and the connector just has a JD cap on it to protect the connector from water and dirt.

Regarding the knob, we got a new knob to replace the old one.

on the photo, Regarding the MID PTO, on the black block in the photo above it has ONLY 2 of the spots being used.
I assume looking at the photo the tractor does have a MID PTO. Since it says "MID PTO".

JD855guy~I also don't see the splined mid pto shaft in the photo but I will take your word for it.
Where exactly would I find a "Splined" MID PTO shaft? If there is a shaft? Maybe this tractor does not have it.

I am not sure what this is.

I forgot to mention in my post last night, my husband wants to add a 2 spool hydraulic joy stick with double acting
similar to the front loader. But separate for the rear.
Joystick loader control valve
Is it possible to get one that is manual or does it have to be electronic?
Any suggestions regarding the diverter or remote?

My husband is now trying to figure out how to add the "TILT", Since we do have the "TOP" For the "Top & Tilt".
Strictly Regarding the Hydraulic side link or Tilt Option on the tractor. What things do we need for this?
Regarding the Diverter Where would I find information on this for the John Deere 4310?

For another selective control Valve there are many options for this, I am not sure which one will work?
My husband would like a manual valve, not electric (If this is possible).

Yes, you/he can add a manual joystick valve to the tractor, mounted to the ROPS (roll over protective structure) or fender somewhere. Cost will probably be $600-$800 after buying the valve, hoses, fittings and of course the cylinder which will most likely not be an off-the-shelf item due to the lower link.

It would connect into main hydraulic system, what's called the "power beyond". There is a hard pipe that is removed and replaced with hosed to fee the valve, then another from the valve to a port in the transmission to take waste oil back to the reservoir. There are MANY threads in the hydraulics forum regarding this on many different tractors. The specifics will be involved and would be better serves in a new thread. Before investing in this I would make sure the tractor is 100% after this flood, or you'll be throwing good money after bad, lots can happen to a flooded machine, and they aren't always obvious.
