Sorry, I do not know the torque requirement or what tool is used. Never did say you could not just install a bearing and go down the road just trying to explain why Deere does not offer the bearing individually to the dealers. You have obviously figured out that you can put the bearing into the housing relativly straight. Would probably only take a dealer one or two times of a customer not installing correctly, ruining a side sheet or have a small fire before the dealer just says we will just sell the assy only as far as a warranted part. It's not the 99% that can get it close enough its the 1% that can't figure it out and have a tendency to cry the loadest when things come appart.
