Looking for some advice on a John Deere 720 Mower/Conditioner. I believe that it is about 1995 unit with a sickle bar cutter. What show I look for and what are the pluses and minuses? Thanks..

a 16yr old mow/co could be rusted pretty bad.an pulling the sickle out of that thing an replacing sections is gonna be a pain,as well as replacing the guards.

Thanks.. I'll check those areas well before making a move on it. Just one more question - The fields that I want to use it on are fairly hilly and some rocks.. any suggestions? rocks are marked..

your going tobe breaking alot of sections an guards in rocky fields.1 more thing look at the front of where the sickle goes,it could be rusted out there bigtime.

Thanks... Would a discbine be better? I'm in Mass. and so unless you have flat lands, there's a lot of rock.

personally id feel better running a discbine or a 3pt disc mower.an the blades are easier to change.
