John Deere Hood. Part Number LVA16818.

Looking for a economical solution for a broken hood. I have a 3203 compact tractor that a rock feel off the bucket and broke the hood. The John Deere part number is LVA16818. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hood from a 4105 is the same.

I wish you good luck trying to find an "economical" solution. This is the notorious issue of all plastic hoods.

Thanks. $1800 bucks is ridiculous for a plastic hood that is relatively small.

When I worked at a rental store for many years, we had a John Deere 3033, I think. Anyway it was a CUT that we rented A LOT. As you can imagine, the hood on it did get broken in the course of the time that we rented it. Since they are so expensive and it was a rental machine, we used zip ties to stitch it together. We just drilled two holes opposite each other about 1/2" back from the crack and threaded a zip tie and pulled it tight. We spaced the "stitches" about an inch apart along the crack. It was surprising how well that temporary fix held up. We rented it like that for a few years. I know I've seen green zip ties, so maybe you could live with it like that until you found a used one (highly unlikely) or decided $1800 really isn't that bad (also unlikely).

Perhaps try some of those plastic welding kits?

Plastic staple kits work incredibly well and are inexpensive.

I've had the low wattage version for years. Comes with 100's of staples for inside corners, outside corners, and straight cracks. Repairs are stronger than new.
