JOHN DEERE M138938 VS. NGK BPR2ES SPARK PLUGS

Thought I'd remove/replace the existing JD M138938 plugs, went to an Advanced auto and they had a cross-reference to: (2) NGK BPR2ES plugs. The old saying applies: "I don't know what I don't know". One of the plugs is listed as: NGK Standard Spark Plug (BPR2ES): Reliable Performance & Durability and the second; NGK Standard Nickel Spark Plug (BPR2ES): Reliable OE Performance. The latter also has a "2015" suffix listed on the yellow box. Anyone use the NGK plugs, what's the difference. The X730 Manual says I need a gap of .030, the NGK plugs come with a .032 Gap. Any assistance would be appreciated,

I would use either of those NGK plugs in your X730 Kawasaki engine. Doubt you would notice .002 difference in gap either.

oildnslo, Thanks for the response.... the gap delta really doesn't bother me, some sites even say the plug is pre-gapped @ .030 however, just wondering from an engineering standpoint if the 2015 suffix plug fires hotter or something that could impact the engine, just thinking out loud. The 2015 plug is about 35% more in price and that really doesn't bother me if it's a cleaner fire, again though without affecting the engine. I need to research the recommended Kawasaki plug specs.

I guess I am an obsessive old dinosaur. I always check and adjust the gap on my spark plugs. I don't trust them out of the box.

dougtrr2 Thanks for the response, I thought the same thing, so I ordered a Feeler Gauge Set that includes 32 Stainless Steel Blades Dual Marked Metric & SAE, 0.030 included.
