I'm a newbie to this forum, I have used this forum for almost a year getting opinions and advise from everyone here so, thanks to everyone! I am going to throw this out there hopefully not to upset too many people. What do all of these Manufacturers like Oliver, White, Allis, Case, IH, Ford/Newholland, Deutz, Agco, and countless others have in common? They all have either merged or been bought out by other company's or each other. Why? Because they are trying to compete with #1 JD. Why hasn't Deere had to sell or merge yet? Because they have a long standing tradition to make quality products and their service is second to none. They are also so diverse in other areas of business they can withstand the pressure that comes their way. Am I biased absolutely!! If I cut my finger my blood is Green!!!! This is not the only reason I bought my JD2320 this spring. Two things I considered is my wife works for Deere and yes we do get discounts but not as good as one would think. Second is the dealer network. I would have to drive 50 miles to find a dealer of another brand. If I did buy another brand I would be disowned as well as probably single again!!!! My family farms and yes we do have other brands of equipment, but where do we get parts from, the Deere dealer because they can pretty much get anything through their parts system. I will have to say that the other manufacturers probably make a quality product but to me it is all about getting parts and service. Yes it may cost more up front but like have always been told YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! Oh and one more thing, IF IT AIN'T GREEN IT AIN'T A MACHINE!!:::
