John Deere Utility Tractor 2653A Hydraulic Problem

Hi

I have just run over a piece of steel which jammed the reels. I cleared the reels and they spin fine by hand. Now the engine will only start by jumping with a big battery. I got it running and cutting for about 5 minutes, but then it suddenly stalled when I stopped moving forward.

Now it will start ok, the reels will raise and lower, but as soon as I disengage the brake or engage the reels the motor cuts.

I知 going to check to see if the seat switch has coincidentally failed, but any other help would be really appreciated.

Not really a utility tractor, this is a professional golf course machine. Maybe a golfcourse expert will chime in.
