I’m thinking my first try is to disconnect and reconnect the loader hydraulic couplers securely.

Might try also swapping them so lower is raise a vice versa. This would just be for testing purposes to see if problem follows.

Raising slowly would point towards the spool not centering properly which can be caused by linkage binding or the centering spring assembly being full of crud or depending on style coming apart. Spring assembly is located under cover on end opposite the joystick.
If, repeat if my memory is correct the lower and float is operated by pulling the spool towards the joystick. If this is correct then when in spring center home position both spools should extend out of valve housing the same distance. Again looking at pictures it looks like one may extend farther than the other but could easily be optical illusion.

I would 1st try lubing all the ball joints on the joystick control. The pictures may be deceiving but they looked dry to me.

Chatter could also indicate a failing quick disconnect. When they fail they can act like a check valve or flow restriction. The spring in one of the halves could be getting weak or spring keeper might have moved. Typically QD is a non repairable item.
I’m going to try lubrication but the joystick moves freely just like it always has since I’ve owned it.

I loosened and reseated each of the four couplers, but it didn’t change the issue.

I then swapped the lift and tilt lines (all four) and the symptoms switched in sync with the line swap. In others words the tilt position lifted the loader and lowered it without issue. The lift position which was now the tilt function would not move in but one direction.

I believe this means the issue is in the loader valve itself.

The valve which looks like it’s not been uncovered since it’s installation at the factory. It does have some slight seepage and it’s on the lift side if I am understanding it correctly.

Not sure what could fail in the valve to cause this problem but I guess anything is possible.

I would probably replace both of the male and female quick disconnects on the lift lower circuit before replacing the valve since much easier and less expensive than valve and would totally eliminate a QD as the problem but then being armchair mechanic it is easy to give advice and spend other peoples money😁

I think that if the problem stayed with the spool, only the couplers on the valve side would need replaced for that spool. I might be wrong. I would definitely replace some or all couplers with quality units from Parker, Safeway, Faster, or Dixon before messing with the valve.

I did have a problem with similar stuttering on a Ford 655 when raising it. Turned out the spring on the end of the valve was broke and needed replaced.

Should I look at getting both the male and female versions of the coupler or just the female side?

I suspect from your diagnostic work that the spring in the half on lower circuit connected to the valve is weak but To be safe I would replace both since if one half is failing the other may not be far behind.
