My wife and I bought a new 2520, FEL, 62d deck in June 07. After about 1hr of mowing I noticed the right rear tire had a groove in it, turned out that the dealer did not put the wheels in the wide position. I had to move the wheels side to side, still have the groove in the tire got nothing for that. The deck has fell out 4 times so far, first time was the front bracket was not adjusted correctly. The next 3 times the upper yoke pins on the mower mid mount lift linkage came out. The mounting arm, plate on the tractor frame have been bent, it is being replaced under warranty now.

Tried to get a trade for a 2720-2520 or even a X540 that is on the showroon floor. They want $5000 for the 2520 and $6400 on the 2720 too much money . Its a sad day when there is an $18000 Junk Deere mower that I can not use to mow my yard. Now I am back to using my wore out 1979 Cub Cadet mower.

So after they replace these things, why would you feel the tractor would NOT mow?

Also, if you have a warranty, WHY would you NOT have called the dealer on the first problem?

Gee, nice first post:mad: Welcome to TBN anyway though...

It sounds to me like your problems are cause by the dealer setup...not with the product itself. Do some research here, your will find hundreds of happy 2520 owners.

I agree that your problems sound much more like dealer set up problems than problems specific to the product. Naturally, those things will leave a bad taste in your mouth. I would contact the Deere rep in your area, and talk the situation over with him. I'm sure that Deere doesn't want their products getting a bad rap because they are going out in the field set up wrong. Hopefully, your experience will be positive. Unfortunately, even good dealers can get people that don't care about their work, or folks that are having a bad day............ still, there is no reason you should have to pay for that. Let us know how it all works out.

I'd like to hear the dealer's side of this story.

I have always found, with any piece of equipment, that one must take the time to familiarize themselves with the equipment and it's function. While it is reasonable to expect any piece of equipment to be 100% when delivered, I have rarely found this to be the case. Every new car or truck or tractor I've purchased has been immediately inspected by me to assure that everything I can reasonably check is checked, set-up correctly, or properly lubricated.
I can understand one's frustration with a product that's not right on from the start, but it is the users responsibility to assure his own safety. Knowledge of any tool or equipment along with competent maintenance and safe operation will usually lead to many years of happy ownership.
I'm sure that once this learning curve has been overcome, you'll be much happier with your tractor, and your ability to operate it. I hope the dealer you have will help you work out the issues that are his responsibility.

What was not adjusted properly about it?

Where they coming out because it was bent?

What all do you do with your 2520?

I had a 2210 with the 62C deck on it. I had my share of problems with it. I was a dummy and didn't take the deck off when I was not using it and bent the pick up arm a couple times, etc.

I ended up ditching the 2210 or a 757 Z track for mowing grass and a 4720 for the pasture work.

If you only mow with it - you might consider getting a Z track mower.

Is there another dealer you can take it to?

How many hours do you have on the unit?

I wonder if there have been any design changes on that deck setup since you bought yours.

Sorry about your problems. Maybe you can post some pics of the trouble spots and other people that own them might be able to give you some hints.

D.
