Before I give my 550xp it's last rights, I dropped it off at a small redneck Husqvarna fix it place this morning, a guy I work with gave me his ph number said if the saw can be fixed this guy can fix it, called last night when I got home, he said bring it over in the morning around 9 so's I did. You'd think this was a Redneck saw shop from the small sign out by the road, so small I went past it had to turn around, then pulled in to a drive way, old house trailer on left, an old discontinued trailer truck trailer on right that he works and sells a few saw from, I see a door way cut out of the side of it, the average chainsaw owner would've backed right out smoked it back home saying are you kidding me..........
As soon as I shut my Jeep off the guy came right out with a limp from what I don know. I say hey heres the 550xp I called about, told him two months ago the saw started loosing power, then last week it was just starting and stopping, ask if he could find out if it was worth fixing, he said that same he sells now for $630.00, I paid around $525.00 5 years ago. So he grab it, 3 pulls to start it up, ran for just a few seconds and stalled, he goes gezz that's a little loud on the inside ain't it, I thought to myself he has good hears, I go you know I thought that had a different sound myself and told him two weeks when I last ran it, it had a louder sound for a while but it still ran somewhat now it wont. He says you come back or call me Monday sometime I'll tell you exactly whats wrong and the cost of fixing it, so now the wait is on and keep rolling over in my mind how much is to much to fix a going on 6 year old saw, $200.00, 3, I'm not paying $400.00.
Then we chit chated about jonsered on how why they gave up their bigger saws, he got into it but went over my head then he also was saying that Husqvarna wants to get out of the the big box store chainsaw sales and go back to private dealers, I've heard myself that BBS have different quality, he was saying those stores was hurting Husqvarna's image.....
