Found whole saw pics. Which one of these?

Both sold as 3.0 in different years. Bigger one is the earlier cv series. The later is the ones I like that at smaller lighter like a 026 260 etc.

I keep info on my chainsaw repair website. https://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/

Looks just like the one in your c30.jpg image. I only have $10 into it so far. IMG_20190513_065620_1.jpgIMG_20190513_065610.jpgIMG_20190513_065637.jpg

I know the impulse line connects from carb to cylinder block, but can you describe in detail how it connects on this model? I checked the owners manual (online) and the provided schematics do not seem to mention an impulse line at all.

So I was looking down into the saw around the intake boot and couldn't find anything resembling a hose. There is, however, something which looks like a brass barb on the cylinder block which is suspiciously clean of sawdust. I am thinking this may be one of the hose connections.

When I got the saw it did run, but I only got a few cuts before it wen't kaput. My theory is that the saw hadn't been run in many years and possibly the line was brittle enough that a bit of vibration broke the hose out and I never saw it.

Either way, I already ordered some of the hose material mentioned on your site, and should have it sometime next week.

Appreciate the help.

Looks like it goes to the crankcase which would be correct for a pulse line for the fuel pump. If you look at the carburetor assuming it is supposed to have an impulse line, it would have 2 or 3 ports on it (2 if no primer bulb, 3 if it has a primer bulb) and likely two side covers. One side cover with 2-4 screws and a large diaphragm about the diameter of the carburetor, this is the pressure regulator, likely not a barb on that side. On the other side that is the fuel pump side and if you take it off will have several reed valves and a diaphragm section about 3/8" diameter, one side of that diaphragm section will be ported directly to that barb in your picture (on the smaller venturi versions the port goes through the intake gasket into the manifold and ported somewhere under the piston), the other will have some ports leading to check valves, a fuel inlet and possibly a fuel outlet going to the primer bulb that sucks fuel through the carburetor and returns back into the tank.

My drink just kicked in, but that should cover the general operation of a generic 2 stroke pumper carburetor :)

That is your impulse nipple. It runs through your tank under your carb. Then up to top of carb.

Showing the black line aka echo 3mmx6mm for the impulse running to top of carb. From the brass nipple you show.

Thanks guys! With any luck it should be running next week.

I think I will put a lightweight 16" bar on this saw and if I like it, I may end up selling my similar sized but lower quality Husky in order to trade that up for a bigger saw.

They like a 16" 325 IMO. This one is the 54cc not 49cc

After replacing the impulse line the 3000 started right up. I had to order a new vent line since the one on it did not have an appropriate valve. Comes Saturday.

Put on a Tsumura 16" .325 bar and BPX chain and did my best to tune the carb...

Motor starts easily and runs strong. With low and high mix at 1-1/4 turns out, at idle it was spitting black oil out under the muffler. I leaned out the low mix quite a bit and it seemed to help. At WOT, in a cut, I still get black oil under the muffler, and a nice little smoke after I shut it off. Right now it is tuned just a bit richer than its maximum power band and not sure I can go much leaner. Cuts well (better than my 50cc husky).

Full disclosure: I'm not that experienced with carb tuning, and never have had a saw spit oil out the exhaust. Any ideas?

Other than this concern it seems like a great saw.IMG_20190523_180239.jpg
