how would a pawn shop that swapped the gas and bar oil have a clue how much the parts are worth?. THAT is what my comment was about.. most people that buy things at a pawn shop want the item in working condition..

Pawn probably gave some meth head a 10 for it or guy thought it was just dead and took a 20.

If it was turned in stolen stihl keeps a record of the serial number.

Good to know if any of mine get stolen..... now I have to find where the serial numbers are to record them

Probably a snowballs chance at recovering even with the serial number.

Got 2 pull on pull on pull on pull on all day stihls in a 026 441. Bet 20 pulls each to start.

If my poulans acted like this I would be ticked.

I went over and grabbed a PP445 70.7cc like the 441 and hadnt been run for about a week. I said lets check it. Dang thing popped on choke and pushed in choked and had it running 1 pull.:laughing:

He was like thats is what I want. Well 441 is better now 3-4 puls maybe at best. Stihl working on 026.

Soon as new bar is in going to run both with 20" to compare.

441c purrs now and impressed me in the cuts. New 20" bar and chain etc.

Testing was done in 15-15.5" dry ash and then in 20" buried in dry ash.

Used my 445 70.7cc to compare with. It let me know it needs a carb kit.

Maybe I'am posting this on wrong thread so forgive me in advance if I'am . I never owed a Poulan / Craftsman . However the worst chainsaw I have ever owned was my first saw . I bought it new . Maybe I got a lemon . It was a McCulloch Timber Bear . IMO and dont mean to disrespect anybody by saying this but what a pos it turned out to be . After that experience I made dang sure I researched my equipment before I bought something I didnt know jack about .

Some do not like the 441. I have one and really like the anti vibration of the large enough saw. Not a 460, but close enough and smoother on the hands and arms.

Hey, that's the first brand new saw I ever bought too. When it ran I really liked it. But it sure spent a lot of time on the bench getting fixed. The starter spring finally broke, so i threw it away.

We went to my father-in-law's today, he is a auctioneer who buys and sells estates amongst other things.

He told me that he had a broken/junk Husqvarna E-Series 240 x-torq chainsaw that I could have to try to repair if I wanted. The sticker on it says 2008 emissions compliant, so it's at the worst... 10 years old and doesn't appear to have fade, wear, cracking or any indication of heavy use.

Well that took about a half hour to find a broken connector inside for the coil, repaired that, cleaned the entire thing, pulled it a few times and it fired right up! So now I need to decide do I sell this thing or do I keep it as a lightweight little trim saw for keeping the trails cleared. I've only ever owned my Stihl 026 in the last 30 years, so this will be my first time ever using a saw that doesn't have Stihl on the side of it.

If I was you I'd sell it on ebay for $10.00 plus free shipping and let me know when you do.

What's it actually worth? It's a sub $200 saw new.... So $50 to $60 is likely about it will fetch unless you Craiglist it out to an idiot for $125 or something insane like that.

I had a similar saw that was about 30cc. I listed it for $100 and I had people blowing my phone up to buy it.

I just took it outside after sharpening the chain. It starts and runs as expected, cuts fine for what it is. It's tough because my experience in saw is a sample of one... My Stihl Professional 026. My Stihl is jumpy responsive, way faster spinning and all around feels totally different.

This thing starts, it runs, it cuts. It's more than good enough for someone who needs a saw 5 days a year or something for light property/trail trimming and such. I would expect it to not be really happy trying to process 16 and 20 inch logs into fire wood, but with it's 14" bar, I bet it loves snacking on 10 inch and under.

Nothing wrong with it at all, but I can't see me storing it in my garage.

Holy crap Batman! I just took pictures and put them in FB with $110 asking price, a guy wants to meet me in an hour. He's a fool!

Yep, I held the money from the driveway to the kitchen... Then it vanished, never to be seen again.

Think about it from his perspective. It's a $179 saw that's hardly used and in good running condition for $110. That model saw got/gets consistently good reviews. If he's happy and you're happy, that's all that counts.
