Not quite. It was supposed to be listed as "approximately 2000 hours". It was listed incorrectly at 1555 hours. It's not who owned the tractor. It was sold under false pretense. While I agree it's great to have a happy outcome.....and that this dealer seems like they are re going above and beyond.....
I honestly think this is only because it was their employee(mechanic) that screwed the pooch here.
Had this been any other machine on trade, on an as is basis.....I don't see the dealer doing this.
Just like trading a car into a used dealer. "I" am not a mechanic. It's up to the dealer to check my trade in and make a fair offer right?
Problem here is.....it was the mechanics personal tractor, and admitted he knew it had this issue. Makes them look bad and opens them up to liability. I think that is the only reason for this outcome.
I agree. Good character of the owner. I'm sure if I bought a different tractor from them they'd make darn sure it was correct, but they don't have what I'm looking for. So back to the hunt. That's good to hear, it sounds like it was a genuine mistake on their part and they're working to make it right.
As I said before, this speaks well of them; to me, anyhow.
I've thought about that. But now we're in the $70k+ range which is not a payment I want. I don't really want to go above $35k.I am seeing more used tractors for sale in Middle Tennessee. Maybe the tractor market is finally starting to loosen up?
After this bad experience, it might be hard to want to buy anything other than a new tractor with a factory warranty.
That is why reading is important.OP: notice you're from New York City? what's the tractor work like given location? forgive me if i missed something.
Did you notice the OP‘s occupation?quite a thread...OP: notice you're from New York City? what's the tractor work like given location? forgive me if i missed something...my suggestion is to sit back, sleep on the issue a while before doing anything financially rash. prob smart move to post your issue here
Never did hear how much to replace the part after all this fuss. best regards,
good point, didn't follow all replies, my bad. best regardsDid you notice the OP‘s occupation?
Tractor is already going back. Too much risk on my end with unknown hours and worn wear parts. Nothing to replace to right the wrong per se, buy the worn stuff would probably be a few K.quite a thread...OP: notice you're from New York City? what's the tractor work like given location? forgive me if i missed something...my suggestion is to sit back, sleep on the issue a while before doing anything financially rash. prob smart move to post your issue here

In 6 months it'll be someone else's issue. I have to find a new tractor now.all the best. am sure in 6 mo it will be behind you, best regards, now go work that machine...
glad you worked through your decisions. regardsIn 6 months it'll be someone else's issue. I have to find a new tractor now.
I was thinking of getting some projects done while I wait for then to get it, but I'd be so mad at myself if something broke. So it's just parked until the driver comes.
I guess based on what you have said.....Not quite. It was supposed to be listed as "approximately 2000 hours". It was listed incorrectly at 1555 hours. It's not who owned the tractor. It was sold under false pretense.
If you bought a car from me, signed "as is" then I sent you a banana the as is doesn't stand. I did not send you what I advertised and you purchased.
Since when is germane posting criteria at TBN? Pot, kettle? But NOTHING about the supposed tractor or his supposed call to the seller.. or anything germane to his original post........
I am. That is what the salesman said.Saying it was "supposed" to be listed as approx 2000hrs.....I'm not sure of.
AgreedIt should have been, absolutely. And it should have clearly spelled out it had a non-function tach and hour meter.
The intake guy knew, but failed to pass it on.However.....I get the impression that the dealer (or at least the sales dept) had no idea until you contacted them.
No investigation needed. The guy who listed it was overachieving. Then their investigation revealed the truth.
Not dwelling. Just annoyed their mistake cost me $1,100. And now I have the burden of finding another suitable tractor. At this point though, it don't matter. They are taking care of it and making you whole. So don't dwell on it and get back to tractor shopping
Might I suggest a new TYM? More capability than the same sized Kubotas and considerably lower price point. And now I have the burden of finding another suitable tractor.
Sometimes the small lose is way better than keeping it and loosing all of the valve. Sure a grand these days isn't so easily to make up out of thin air.Not dwelling. Just annoyed their mistake cost me $1,100. And now I have the burden of finding another suitable tractor.
