Just bought a 2520

I have the 61 inch bucket that came with the 2520, and a 49 inch bucket that I built. The 49 has welded on digging teeth, so it is the bucket of choice if I am digging. Smaller surface area gives higher psi, for more effective penetration. It still isnt a backhoe, but it is possible to dig into flat dry ground more effectively with the smaller bucket and teeth. I am looking forward to using the 61 in snow. It depends on what you are doing. If you can afford only one, I'd choose the 54 inch width, as a compromise. And a removeable tooth bar would then be a natural addition.

In order to really dig, you absolutely need a tooth bar - Thats cool that your built your own !! show some pictures if possible

I recently dug a stump out and a hole to china - or just deep enough for my dump truck to back up in, and then I rolled the stump on to the bed. The 61" & toothbar dug as far as I wanted and with ease - I find the 61" being the best fit for the 2520 series IMHO
