Jointed Team Orange! Just bought a B9200. It is a geared (non-HST) 4X4 tractor w/ only 530 hours. Looks like was stored outside as the paint is faded & there are numerous spots w/ surface rust. AG tires have decent tread, but beginning to crack between the treads. Tractor came w/ the BF350 loader, a woods RM59 rear finish mower & a 5' grader blade. The clutch & starter were replaced two years ago. I got the tractor for $4100.

The tractor fired right up in 14 degree weather & did not smoke. The hydraulic pump did wine until the tractor warmed up.

This is my first real tractor. Can someone give me a quick tutorial on how to operate & maintain this tractor? I'm mechanically inclined, but have not owed a tractor like this before. I was surprized that it did not have a tach. Also, quick question on the foot throttle. Does it have the full throttle range independent of where the hand throttle is set?

Is there a place that I can download manuals for this tractor?

Thanks!

That machine should have a tach. It wouldn't surprise me if the cable was broken and not reading, which would also mean the hourmeter is not accurate.

Brian

Others will respond with where to download manuals. I have all of the paper manuals for that era of machine for personal use. I also happen to know those machines fairly well if you have any specific questions.

Sounds like a good deal to me. As far as the hydraulic pump whin I would suggest you let it warm up before using the hydraulics too much. Wouldn't want to blow the pump!

How about a picture or two..LOL

Congratulations on your find. Theres nothing like the feeling of bringing home a new tractor.
Was this a Craigslist find?
How about a few pics?
You see, good things come to those who wait. Thats less than half the price of that B2150, plus resale should be a breeze.

When you get the time, I would replace all the fluids and filters, and the coolant, too. I did that with my B8200, and it was a good way to poke around the machine and just look at everything. I use synthetic 5W-40 oil, and good hydrualic fluid. I even replaced the oil in the front axles, etc. I would be very surprised if it hadn't been built with a tach/hour meter! Curious. I added an inexpensive set of guages, too- oil pressure, coolant temp. and voltmeter... not hard to install, and a good way to monitor the engine. In fact, you can see the tach at the upper left in my photo.

Cool tractor! I had a B8200, the 3 cylinder 19hp version. Great tractors!

Get a manual. The ownre/user manual is only about $16, and will tell everything you need to know about the tractor, check/changing fluids ect.

Wow - your tractor looks nice. I will be embarased to post pictures of mine. Maybe I'll get it cleaned up next summer! The tractor had a new cltch put in it two years ago & the transmission & hydraulic fluid was replaced then. You are right on about replacing all the other fluids though. Also, right on about adding instruments!

It was a craigslist find. I've been looking for several months. Called on this one the same night it was posted. Was there next day & owner said there were over 20 calls on it. Heck, while I was there there were two people calling on it. I guess I was not the only one that thought that a good deal.

He deleted it the day I bought it. I'm just east of Pittsburgh. What is Craigzoom?

Projects you say?
1.) Put fence in for dogs (30 holes w/ PHD)
2.) fix up 300 ft. of gravel driveway & prep area in front of garage (2000 sq. ft.) for concrete (or compacted crushed concrete or blacktop millings)
3.) Bush hog! I have six acres, much of it forested that I want to convert to lawn.
4.) build 1000 sq.ft. addition to house. Have someone do major excavation, but do finishing touches on the excavation, regrade & move spoils around, etc.
5.) General landscaping

That will keep me busy for a couple of weekends. Don't really know what I will do with it after that.

Craigzoom.com is a search engine that can search Craigslist nationally. Use it all the time for reference or whatever.
Phd.. Im putting together a hydraulic phd that operates off the loader bucket and uses the existing hydraulic loader controls.Ive got 28 12'' footings to dig this spring. Real simple and fairly cheap.
Sounds like you got the right size tractor for your property/projects.

MMH- the picture was taken a while ago, maybe 2003 or so, and it was in the summer, nice and clean. Time wears on us all.
