-18 here this morning and I thought that was cold but the youngest sent me a picture of his thermometer that had -23.

But, to me, anytime you get a temperature with a - sign in front of it, it's too darned cold. If it wasn't for reloading ammunition, I'd have cabin fever bad right now

My 14 Silverado started just fine in the garage this morning. :laughing: Supposed to get ice and snow tonight into tomorrow. Not looking forward to the ice.

I heard it was in the low 40's down in Spring Training in Jupiter, Florida.

Winter is one thing, but when it messes with Cardinal Spring Training, well, that is just plain unacceptable!

In the 90's, I had a GEO Metro with a 1.0L engine. When it got -15F one day, I needed to go to a funeral about 10 miles away. It lost heat to the atmosphere so fast that it never defrosted the windows. I found a piece of cardboard at the funeral home, blocked off the rad, but it didn't help much. Just too darn cold.

I have my friends' locations/temp on my phone to compare our weather. AT 9:30 this AM it was 0^F in M'waukee, -6 in Toledo, already up to -8 here in the lower Saginaw Valley, and in Fort Payne AL (NE corner, an hour SW of Chattanooga Tenn) was 19^F.

Seems we're all taking it on the chin.

My vehicles have been starting up ok for a week at 0^ and below, but not me. I skipped a few days of checking traps in the barn ('coon & red squirrel had cleaned 'em out days ago) but will have to re-bait for an expected rise to 30^ or so by tomorrow (Sat) when I expect all to 'run'. Just a few years ago I thought <40^ was too cold to work outside. Anymore, I'd be happy to see >20^ and start getting stuff ready for spring.

Global warming is real, tho' not to be remedied by squeezing a cure out of American consumers. Jet streams don't track the way they did a few decades ago, so we might well be prepared for hotter summers as well. Got cab?

Who are these Cardinals you speak of. Are they the one's not in the World Series last year? I think so, so sorry.

Ten below up here this morning, 18" of snow, its been near zero so long now, that 26 feels warm.. Ya'll down south may want to check your anti freeze and make sure its up to the job, could get spendy if it last for any length of time..

Another cold one. I have a brother in-law who is working in Prudhoe Bay (Deadhorse) Alaska. It was 2 deg above there this morning. I told him he has it made. The picture is a little blurry because I must have been shaking. LOL Later
