1. Yep, my 3 point hitch problem was due to the friction pad needing to be tightened. That's fixed.

3. I still don't know what the lever on the 3 point is for.

New items:

Does the YM2500 have wet or dry brakes? It looks like a wet system. Both sides seem to be internally mounted within a drum with drain plugs on the bottom.

My problem is that the brake pedals have to be pressed ALL the way down before they operate. Then, they really don't seem to want to return to the original position.

I also think part of the hitch is broken. I think there's a tilt adjustment on the right PTO arm that's broken. It hangs allll the way out.

I just changed the oil and filter, then came in to post this. I'm going back out to install a new over run PTO clutch from Hoye Tractor. I also just bought a disc and box blade. Woohoo.

You have dry drum brakes. You should have adjustment on the linkage thar runs from the brake lever to the pedal. If it has not been already done, you can loosen the big nut on the brake housing & turn the slotted part with a screwdriver 1/2 turn then retighten the big nut .If your brakes arn't worn out, it should give you more brakes. You may also won't to take the brakes apart if they haven't been apart, and clean out the brake dust.

Yep. I took the right side apart. It was full of dust, and the arm that's acuated by the brake pedal was pretty much frozen in place. After some work I put it all back together and WOW. Like new brakes! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Tomorrow morning I need to do the same to the left. After that, I think all I need to do is get the 3 point tightened up and I'm set.

When I took mine apart (all the way apart) I applied a small amount of anti sseize on the moving parts so they would move freely. You don't won't to get the stuff on the brakes though.
