My ym2000 has a tick for 540 at 2400 I thought also says hp rating at 2400 rpm.

California does your 240 rate HP at 2200?

Wow! has my Tach Hrs. slowed since I can run 2nd. gear PTO. I was Shocked I haven't hit 600 yet. And the Gray colored Square is there marking 2400. I thought it had one but I never can see it in direct sunlight. I had to mark with a scratch the chrome when I started using 2nd. I know now to Run it at the 10 and that should be 1750-1800rpms just to the Right of it.

Coosa, does your tach have a tic mark at 2200 as shown in the diagram above, or one at 2400? Anybody else with a 2210 - what do you see?

There is no tic mark anywhere on my tach. I tried it at 2400 and it seemed like the cutter was really turning 540. But that is just eyeballing it and I wouldn't claim to be a good guesser.

I guess I should update everyone on my issues with the 2210BD; you guys have helped me so much I oughta tell you about the problems I've had.

I carried it to my hunting club last Friday to cut the deer plots with the 4' rotary cutter. There are 7 plots spread out over a couple of miles, but they probably don't total over 3 acres. I cut the first 5 without issue, and the new gasket on the valve cover wasn't leaking. When I got to plot 6 I cut about half of it and then noticed a puff of smoke - it was leaking oil again. It was also running a little hotter than it had been. It hadn't gotten past the center mark all morning, but now it was about halfway between the center and the 3/4 mark. I don't know what those marks are in actual temp.

I parked it and eventually shut it down. There was still plenty of oil in it and it was never close to actually running hot. The gasket on the valve cover was leaking again, but this time in a different spot. I decided I could finish my job so I finished cutting 6 and started on 7. The temp went back up even though I was only running 2000 RPM so I decided I'd better quit.

Carried it home and made arrangements with Fredricks to pick it up and see what they could do. I wanted to run the disk thru my garden and do a 5 minute job before giving up my tractor for who knows how long, so decided to try it. Before I went 100' it started pouring out black smoke from the exhaust and losing power. I shut it off, let it sit a few minutes, and then tried to crank it. It wouldn't turned over and acted like it was locked up. I towed it out of the field and decided to try to crank it again after about an hour. This time it cranked and continued to put out heavy black smoke for a minute or 2, then gradually cleared up and ran somewhat normal. I got it into a position on a little rise that I can winch it onto a trailer if it won't crank back.

It is leaking oil around the front of the valve cover, but it is also leaking diesel now. I'm thru guessing what all is wrong with it, but I'm suspecting a cracked head and probably a blown head gasket at this point. Notice the leak beside the front injector; it sure looks like oil and feels like oil to me.

Well, I am certainly not telling anyone to not buy a Fredricks Yanmar; anyone can have a bad tractor and I think mine just has an unusual problem. They have promised me they will fix it and I'm sure they will. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. I do really like the way the little tractor handles in the woods and the small plots on the club.

Sounds bad!!! The puffs of smoke are strange and the rolling smoke even more so! Sounds like a messed up injector and or pump out of time?

Could be overheated, which might be why it stalled in the garden? But the black smoke and clearing is over fueling. Unless it did crack and its sucking oil into the cylinder?

The valve cover gasket thing is strange? i wonder why they couldnt get the cover to seal up after they fixed it?

@coosa-

Sorry to hear about all your troubles. First the 3PT hitch and now this! I sure hope they get this sorted and get you back to being a happy new tractor owner.

Can't imagine a persistent valve cover leak. No oil pressure there.
