Just make sure you know your road can accept delivery of your new tractor

I wonder if whomever the tractors were destined for will have to eat the cost of the tractors? Hopefully, they won't need to sue. Some companies/insurance won't pay unless a judgment makes them.

The Definitive 11Foot8 Bridge Crash Compilation - YouTube

We know how well truck drivers obey low bridge signs.
There was a RR bridge like that when I lived in Madison, WI. At least once a week it seemed there was a truck wedged under it. The result amazing thing was how often it was locals that did it. They even put a flap with a switch the trucks would hit first that flashed lights and alarm and told them to turn right before the bridge but they barreled through. SMH

We know how well truck drivers obey low bridge signs.

The same way they obey low clearance signs at the RR crossing.

Or the driver could have called a tow truck and had the tractor/trailer removed from the crossing before the train got there.

Yes, but knowing in a rural area that it could be hours for a heavy wrecker to come.....

Funny all the could've would've, should've comments. I haven't seen anything that indicates the truck was stuck for very long before the train showed up.

Very true, for all anyone knows the truck got stuck a minute before the train came, not enough time to do anything but get the driver clear.

No doubt in my mind this all happened in a brief time period. Fun to read all the presumptions though. :)

Railroad tracks are not necessary,, it can happen right on a paved road.

This truck got stuck just a few miles from my home,,
it was pouring buckets of rain just after I got past the truck,,

My daughter came by 20 minutes later,, the truck was still there,,, in the rain, :confused2:

Since this occurred, VADOT has put up a sign that stops ANY tractor-trailers from using the road this truck is coming out of,,,

I mean it does happen to the best of us. Remember Obama’s limo the tank got stuck coming out if a meeting? You know the secret service had checked everything and there was the president standing around while they got help. President Obama's Limo Gets Stuck. - YouTube

I don't remember hearing about that. How embarrassing for the secret service.

Why don't they make the undercarriage of lowboys with a set of low profile/low clearance rollers similar to the anti-scalp wheels of our mowers? If the truck goes over a humped road, the rollers simply keep the trailer up that last 1-inch allowing it to roll free. There has to be some void space under those decks.
