My farts always have a moisture content. Does that mean I have to wear two masks and if so what do I attach the loops to?

Just light them with a BIC. Cuts down on waxing too.:)

Meh, the back and forth was fun, and information was shared.

I wear one when required, absolutely refuse when outside. That said, I also avoid people at all costs so....

Reminds me of my Eagle Scouting days and camping out in the forest and having gas from dinner and being in a tent and lighting one and setting my pubic hair a blaze. We don't do that anymore. Methane does ignite easily...

I thought I might have got that wrong. Thanks for that. YES, what would he say about COVID?

I was reading a USA Today piece about the Swedish handling of this situation. Supposedly trying to establish herd immunity, with many deaths. But NOT A WORD about the stats on those deaths. Drives me nuts!

...Of the 5,783 deaths, how many do you think were of people under the age of 40-years-old? 20%? 10%? No. Not even close. In Sweden, 26 people under the age of 40-years-old have died from COVID-19. That means less than one-half of one percent of the deaths associated with the coronavirus were of people younger than middle age. What's more is that they have now essentially flattened the curve completely to the point that they often report zero deaths on any given day.

New COVID-19 data from Sweden shows why the left stopped talking about it

CalG...just saw your post

You claim to live in Texas. Why would anyone believe that?
He claims to be a scientist. Why would anyone believe that?
I claim to have worked in IT for 30 years. Why would anyone believe that?

It's called taking one's word for something when they say it rather than trying to discredit them when you disagree.

RS hangs his credibility on being a scientist. Unless he can prove he is he leaves a hole in his credibility. And from his posts his credibility as a scientist is important to the extent he keeps referring to it. He makes it the cornerstone of his credibility.

As for me or even you we could live in Texas, Indiana or Lower Uncton for all it matters to anything we say.

The point is, you should take his word for it VS calling him out. It's an internet forum, not a job interview.

He made some comments.
Someone asked him if he was qualified to make those comments.
He said yes.
They said prove it....

Sheesh. It's supposed to be friendly conversation, not a grilling.

Going back through all the posts, it's pretty clear that the most vocal against wearing masks are the ones that have no valid argument, get upset when they are out of ideas, and start attacking the qualifications of those making a good case for reality.

There simply isn't a valid reason to not wear masks in the presence of others.

This get's back to consideration of the WORDs and IDEAs, not the speakers or the opinions.

We each MUST do what we MUST do. We were born that way.

"Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts."

You appear to be out of valid arguments so you attack my method of questioning the credibility of information RS posted based on his own insistence that his credentials gave substance to his contentions.

He built a house of cards based on his claimed scientific qualifications then cannot provide any bonafides to support it.
In my opinion RS’s credibility is at the same level as rs.

The reason I don't post who I am is two fold. (1) I appreciate anonymity. (2) I don't believe that doing so is going to change anyone's mind, so it's a futile exercise with no benefit.

Ask yourself honestly, if I provided proof of my background, would it change your viewpoint on wearing face masks? I think the answer is pretty clear, so I don't bother.

The irony of it all is there is nothing I have said on here that is "proprietary" to me. I am simply repeating, and pointing to, a large wealth of well established research by other scientists in the field, for whom, their credentials are easily vetted. Yet, that hasn't convinced you of anything, so how would me posting my credentials change anything?

I think you are more likely to continue performing mental gymnastics to try to justify your Ill-informed stance on face coverings than admit you are wrong. So, no, I won't play along.

Your gonads and be sure to tie the straps really tight too.............

Not too tight, or you will be singing in the tenor section of the choir. :)

You have been far too patient with these ignorant bullies on here... just like wrestling a pig in the mud.... before too long you realize they enjoy it.

It boils down to ... you can’t fix stupid. That’s also a proven scientific fact.

Rsr, you are not going to change my mind on the uselessness of face masks for people that are not jammed into living in sardine cans like new york city. Where i live its very easy not to get into someone else's face during day to day work. Heck, my neighbor has only 30% lung function due to work related injury and he does not wear a mask. Healthy as i am. Works outside every day until it gets too hot. Hes not falling for this conspiracy and neither am i.

Right on ProjectKing. Way too patient indeed.

Some old members are here just for the pure joy of arguing about everything and with everyone. So they just turn this forum into a less friendly forum. They just push the limits on and on.

I'm actually surprised that this thread is still open.

Unless and until there is real time, real life studies (not laboratory experiments) the science is incomplete and any and all opinions and findings are subjective...

It's the mask nazis that are jumping through hoops wanting and trying to get everyone to believe that their opinions are omniscient which in fact are just subjective opinions based on results from improvised testing and experiments...the only real scientific fact on the matter is that the facts are incomplete as is the science...

IMO...It makes sense to wear a mask when in public if for no other reason than to keep the mask nazis from getting their panties in a bunch...

Just curious...how many have been in a store etc...and seen someone masked or not coughing and sneezing ?

All one has to do is look at teachers, MLB baseball players, health care workers etc., etc......they are all testing positive but they were wearing masks...The zealots would like everyone to think that if you have not been infected and you have been wearing a mask...the mask is the reason...but they don't want to know how many that have been wearing masks have gotten the virus anyway...!

Oh boy, another thread heading for the MC circular file... Usual posters too.

Should have started it (thread) on TNT instead......:)

Funny thing is...the cdc and others are pushing Herd Immunity values ranging between 50-80% required to contain the virus......and in todays article they actually stated that as few as 50% population infection and recovery (antibodies) can stop the disease. Then they state that masks are necessary to stop the spread. So which is it. Stop the spread or let it spread and let it stop itself. I get so confused.... its all BS.

Yep, and by Thanksgiving it'll all be resolved!!!
