I am in the process of building a branch trimmer attachment to a loader bucket. I consists of a hydraulic motor coupled to a shaft via a belt to increase the circular blade speed. I want to run the blade CW viewed from the shaft. I understand that I can change the rotation by changing position of the hoses to the motor port. Once the rotation is established, will the rotation possibly change just by turning the tractor on-off, or do I need another device to insure the rotation is always CW? The motor is driven by a speed control valve.

The rotation will stay the same unless you reverse the flow through the motor. It can't just change for no reason.

On motor control valve, you can use either fwd or rev for your application.
Some people reverse the blade.
