We got HAMMERED yesterday.
First forecasts would had us getting a trace of snow. Then 1-2 inches. About a day in advance of the storm, the forecast was 2-4 inches of snow. The night before the storm hit the estimate was for as much as 8 inches!
The storm was to hit about 2:00am in the morning but it slowed down and got stronger. At 0800 there was a bit of freezing rain and sleet but five minutes later it was snowing hard with about one inch an hour. Around noon we had friends saying they lost power. We lost power about 2:30pm.

Friends were supposed to have power back at 5:00pm but we did not get power back. Our power came back today. Glad it is back but it stunk loosing power. Had to start the fire, long story, and started melting snow to have water to flush toilets. REALLY worried about the well house freezing but it is well insulated and it seems ok. Need to go check but got busy at work.
We could hear booms which I think were transformers. After dark we could see flashes of power arcs towards town. Guess it was trees on the power lines. Pretty in a scary sorta a way.
Wood stove kept us warm but I got up every three hours to put in wood and checked to make sure the little water we had in the plumbing was still water. Had fun playing checkers and cards with the family but I would rather
We ended up with at least 8.5 inches of snow and friends said they got 12 inches. Most snow we have had here. Lost one branch from the snow load which was surprising. Both storms this month have had very, nice fluffy, light snow instead of the usual heavy, wet snow.
Ready for spring we are.

Later,
Dan
