Smooth rotor Fecon head painted black and sold as Bobcat Brand. We're not in sand much at all which helps.

The teeth on the Fecon head are totally different than the Bobcat,ASV, JD mulcher. Carbides will last longer it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. James you got to chill out man though you may have some experience you can't keep bashing the other manufactures if you don't own them. I have FAE, Cimaf and Fecon heads on various equipment, all over 200 hp. You can't deny that a Cimaf head will out cut any other manufacturer if you are not in rocks etc. They all have they're place. Just for comparison I had a BH85 on a Fecon FTX 148 I used to have and I swapped it out for my Cimaf head, production went up at least 25%. Again just so you don't jump all over ranting this was in muskeg where there are no rocks, sand etc. And btw if you were any where near my Jobsite with any alcohol or drugs you would never work up here again.

I like to post my thoughts good and bad on products that I try. Hopefully it will benefit someone at sometime.

The previous set of teeth I ran on our Gyro Trac GT25 came from King Kong Tools. They just came off and here are the results.

Life - I was happy with the life at almost exactly 100 hours.

Cut - I was happy with the performance. Seemed to cut just as fast as Gyro Trac teeth.

But.... if you plan on using them, plan on switching for good. The tab on the back of the tooth is a little smaller than the Gyro Trac teeth and doesn't completely fill up the pocket. The extra space in the pocket gets packed full of debris. The debris is packed so tight that you need a hammer and small chisel or screw driver to get it out in order to put a Gyro Trac tooth back on, best case. I had a few pockets that were deformed. I had to use a die grinder with a small endmill to reshape the pocket so the Gyro Trac Teeth would fit. Luckily it didn't ruin the base. Those are no fun to change.

I had been warned about problems associated with the pocket/tab by a member on this board, but I already had them on the machine so it was too late.

So, if you decide to try them you will probably be happy with the teeth in general, but plan on making the switch forever. I would imagine that these problems would be compounded the longer you use them and eventually you would not be able to switch back without replacing all of the bases.

Fish just buy the teeth directly from Robbie or Fred they are priced competitively and are a OEM solution.

i dont want to hurt anybodys feelings, rayco is a alright machine, i ran a 140 in enterprise alabama a few years ago, it never overheated, not much room in the cab, the only problem was where the hoses hook to the head, in the cab there is a metal plate, behind there are the hoses for the head, they are not steel hoses, they are regular hoses and they leaked constantly.
as for cimaf, i like their head, however not in texas are they very good in the sand, and nobody likes to sharpen teth when it 100 plus degrees outside after working 12 to 14 hours a day, never had to replace any bearings in a cimaf, fecon, seppi, fae yes, i am not degrading anyone as to what their preference is, however when all you read about is how great one is and how bad another is, well somebody really needs to mulch like i, and a whole bunch of others. especiall getting 18000 feet a day on a row with 3 machines. that equals up too staying in the cab with the head down and keeping the doors shut and doing what we are getting paid to do. as for a cold beer, never drank on the job, only back in motel, a drugs?? 3 piss tests per week down here on row and seismac

how much does a set of teeth cost for a cimaf head? and how many hours will a set of cimaf teeth last in the sand? how many hours will you get from a set of cimaf teeth in rocks? i am just curious

Sandy conditions anywhere from 60-80hrs wouldn't even try to cut with the cimaf in rocks unless i threw on some carbides. For regular Cimaf teeth round $50 a tooth, for harden Steel Round $55, but haven't bought them in a while so they could be more or less.

And remember, while offering a long life tool in a double carbide or a stone tool, Fecon has the fast cutting knife also.
