Neighbor let me borrow his disc this year for my plot. He only used it twice a few years ago and then let it sit for the last few years. Today i asked if he would consider selling he said "Sure, $350 cash and its yours". Needless to say i ran to the bank, he bought it for $1600ish a few years ago. Its the 6.5 foot wide model, looks small on my tractor but does the job. It did a great job breaking up the soil on my new to me 42 acres that was abandoned and neglected for over 10 years, i planted a small 1 acre food plot in a clearing of mesquite and oak trees that had alot of game trails. Ive also used it on some of my other land that has 3 different soils, red clay, clay sand mix and straight sand. It has done great on all soils we have had rain recently so the solid clay easily broke up but im sure during summer it will need some added weight or used of a chisel plow will be required.

Great looking disc and well built. IF you can find one, lay a full length railroad steel or 2 like in photo across the center between the gangs and it will cut much better.disk on trailer.jpg

When "facts" are sourced from unreliable websites and absent personal knowledge or experienve, errors are bound to occur.

I can't see enough in the pictures to tell which bearing type you have. Newer models have sealed bearings. I have an older KK disk with greaseable cast bearings, and I grease them after every use. If yours is greaseable, you'll use a nearly a full tube filling them but it's worth it for longevity.

Nice find.
BTW...
Where do you get RR rail?
All I ever see is on Craigslist and they don't give it away...

I will have to check, i believe they are sealed though.
