Hi everyone. Was readying my cutter for use I found that my round stump jumper has a slight bit of up/down play in it. If I push up on the extended blade, that blade goes up and the other down. Total play on one blade tip to tip may be 1/2 inch. Stump jumper measured play 1/8 inch if that. No rotational problems or missing or skipping on shaft, blades are properly secured and in good shape. Castle nut is tight and cotter pin is present. Overall, the cutter is in good shape, 7 or 8 out of 10, still has the factory bar code, etc... It is older(bought used) but I have used it for 3 seasons now without a problem. My question is do I now have a problem? I do get some vibration at low PRM pto engagement, but that quickly disappears. My wife has a new 4 foot King Kutter on her tractor and there is no play on her stump jumper. Any thoughts? Should I be concerned. Thanks!

Resolution: Removed stump jumper, inspected splines (were fine). Cleaned everything up a bit, applied anti-seize to splines and bolt/shaft. Re-installed stump jumper with new castle nut and 1 inch grade 8 washer. Manually tightened and snugged up with impact gun. Put in new cotter pin and good to go, no play at all in stump jumper. Cut yesterday and ran fine, no play afterward and no castle nut movement. My thought is maybe the previous owner removed stump jumper at some point and did not completely seat it when re-installing. Just glad the splines were fine on shaft and stump jumper. I can't believe it took me this long to catch it.
