Comparison Kioti CK2610HST vs Kubota L2501HST : what am I missing?

I went with the 66 - I'm not in the woods with it, I use it to move loam, yard waste, snow etc. The tractor has no issues with a full bucket of wet top soil, so lift capacity is not an issue - I run R4's - the only reason I'd go with the 60 would be space requirement.......

I have the 66 inch bucket as well. The few times I’ve had it in the woods so far I’ve had a 60 inch grapple on it so the bucket size really hasn’t been a factor.

Looks like an even split, 60 vs 66" bucket. I may be getting a grapple also, so maybe the 66" is a better choice since it won't be trying to fit between trees in the wooded areas...

One of the dealers came back saying they do offer the Kioti 3rd function, # CKA162, for $1285.00CAD + tax installed. Sounds a bit pricey given what I have heard here with US pricing, but I may still consider it.

I will be driving in front of a Massey Ferguson dealer on my way to see the CK2610HST. Any reason I should not give them a shot at quoting a MF1726E? I have heard at least one person say the HST is weak, but at least the pto is independent on the geared model. I may be persuaded to go gear for a significant discount, but they really would have to woo me with the price...

How is the shopping going?

Shopping is going alright. Waiting for March incentives, and my garage to be clear, to pull the trigger.

BTW this ROPS height thing is going to be a pain. Anyone know if Kioti sells a fixed heights ROPS, perhaps 5" lower than the extended foldable? I don't really need it to fold, I just need it not do destroy my 8' garage door frame.

Also still need to get a local quote on the LS MT225HE and the MF 1726E, just to complete the picture. The (single) comment on the 1726e having a weak HST does have me worried a little though, I am trying to get confirmation on that through other posts/experiences. So far the LS 225HE was more expensive than the Kioti CK2610HST, with no real reason for it. Waiting to see if it was just a fluke with the local quote.

PS In the comparison page, I see the LS has an independent PTO, vs the Kioti live PTO. Is this a real discriminator with an HST transmission? I know I want to avoid transmission driven for my use, but I think live (left hand clutch) will suffice even though the electro-activated clutch independent pto would be nice. From the specs, it seems that the independent pto option costs you another 2 hp, so maybe thats another point for the live option. Don't know how many PTO hp I want to give up for convenience on a 25hp tractor, especially with the HST already grabbing a few hp.

This may have been discussed. Have you thought about a inexpensive metal carport? We bought a big enough carport to put our tractor and implants underneath. Paid $3k installed
This way you aren't held hostage by ROPs height

Definitely looking into this. I was thinking about building a shed roof style shed, with metal roof for snow(not everybody is in Texas ;)), 24x10 or so. Smart Panel sides(so my neighbours hate me less), pressure treated posts. I definitely don't want to store my implements in the garage, but don't want them out in the weather either. That should be a good fit. The front 9' doors are going to look a little odd though...

Still a bit worried about mice, as this will definitely not be mouse proof. Already found some mouse nest in my wifes Mazda engine cover, so the little buggers definitely look for warmth here in the winter months. I don't want to have early wiring issues

Mangler, you would have to move up to the SE models to get independent PTO, but they start at the 3510. That is quite a jump new.

I do not know what part of Ontario you are in but here are some options.

2016 CK2610 200Hrs, and includes forks, back blade, trencher?, chains, etc. $20,500 ($15K US for many readers). Worth a serious look.

2016 CK4010 for $23K. Less interesting with no attachments and quotes 12Hrs - typo? Maybe 120?

Here is one that I think has 92" ROPS and independent PTO.
2015 Kioti Tractor 45HP,

I started shopping for a CK2610 and soon moved my focus to a CK3510SE. A used DK deal came along that I could not refuse. It is more tractor than I thought I needed, but I am truly enjoying it. The weight, adjustable wheel centres for a wide stance, capacity, and finally power for cost.

Finally, down trust Spec sheets for ROPs height - take a tape measure and check each unit.

Thanks Peter.

Already corresponded with the 2016 CK2610 guy. Not a bad price considering the equipment, but at almost 2k for shipping, it does not make sense when they quoted me 28685 tax in, with 2 sets of rear remotes and the 3rd function...

If you calculate the opportunity costs on 22k over 6 years, you get around 6k, paying the same price for a used unit with weaker loader, and I have not paid the 2k shipping.... Bottom line it would need to be 18k or lower to make it interesting, and I doubt he wants to make that deal.

I guess it was not close enough to drive home . Ooops, I did intend to point out the weaker loader. You get a gold star for doing your homework on this purchase decision!
