Comparison Kioti CK2610HST vs Kubota L2501HST : what am I missing?

Just did a bit more reading, to compare the gear options L2501 vs CK2610. I don't want a gear tractor, but I could use one, and I want to be ready in case a "deal" shows up that's too good to pass up.

Here there is a big discriminator between the Kubota L2501 gear and the Kioti CK2610 gear. The Kubota has a transmission driven pto! In my opinion this is unacceptable in 2020. I might as well buy an Ford 8N (plenty arount here for 2200 can with a small loader) and call it a day.

At least the CK2610 has a 2 stage clutch, which means you can change gears or clutch in without stopping the pto. Single stage clutch on the L2501...

Anyway I would be weary of used gear machine (you never know how many operators have been slipping the clutch), but for the right price, I could totally live with a new CK2610 with 2 stage clutch.

I had a 2 stage clutch on my JD 770 and could never get the hang of it. I'd get frustrated and just push the clutch in all the way and shift. It really had little effect on mowing for me.

But if you are doing any real loader work, the HST is king. Night and day difference and I did a LOT of loader work with that little crash box JD.

FYI - I didn't see anyone answer your questions on the split brakes, but the L2501 has them. Right above the HST peddle. I have attempted to use them (they worked great on the JD) but can't seem to press the brake with my toe and HST with my heal. And forget using your left foot if you're a big guy with big feet. Too little room with too much boot.

Thanks Crashz, apparently the live pto was an option on the JD 770. Maybe you just did not have it?

Its not all roses anyway, there is a significant premium for the clutch on a live pto tractor vs a transmission pto tractor when it comes time to replace it. The convenience comes at a price.

I can't seem to find a close up of the footwells of the CK2610, to look at brake arrangement. It may be a different arrangement on the gear vs HST.

Last thing I want quoted is the optional linked HST pedal on the CK2610. I like the thought that with the linked throttle, when you mash the HST pedal on a hill, the tractor does not stall

Can anyone tell me if the CK2610 4030 loader frame has bracing to the rear of the tractor? I noticed this on the MF 1726e and I really like the extra rigidity of the design. Especially since you hear of a few "tractor broke in half" or "tractor housing leaks" after heavy FEL use on the web.

There is no bracing to the rear on the CK10 tractors. The only damaged transmissions when using a loader that I have heard of were from users not having enough rear ballast. The rear wheels would come off of the ground & then be slammed back on the ground.
Backhoes are a lot bigger concern then loaders.

This thread has a picture of a stock footwells on my CK3510SE HST. The CK10SE HST models do not have a clutch pedal. The CK10 HST models do have a clutch.

Thanks Chevy, to be fair I could not find many Kioti leak/cracked housing examples. So maybe it is strong enough...

Nice job on the left hand brake btw. I was a bit disappointed I don't get independent linkable brakes on the HST, but not enough to make me go gear for my use case

I was surprised that they did not have split brakes, but after thinking about the compact tractors that I owned & used. I could not think of a time when the brake pedals were unlocked from each other.
