Comparison Kioti CK3510 vs Kubota 3350SU

Yes, there is tons to be learned, and you are in the right place. I was in the same relative position as you a couple years ago, but i just "liked" the way the Kioti fit me. I've learned a lot of what the DK can and cant do. My best advice is that weight is your friend (most of the time), tractor usage is a leverage sport. A compact counterweight (search barrel ballast) can become a great way to keep things in the right spot. This is in addition to loading the tires. Have fun deciding, and when you do, post pics or it didnt happen!

Has anyone verified that the B3350SU is indeed equipped with a quarter-incher, and that's just not a typo in the brochure/specs? The reason I ask is because the B2650/B3350 (and all the new Bs actually) have position control. I know they make some changes when they create an SU model, but normally they wouldn't do something like change the 3-pt hydraulics, since that is internal to the rear case. The SU models tend to get changes in tires, external parts, and normally include a loader standard. They may indeed have swapped position control for a quarter-incher, but that would be contrary to how they normally do things.

BTW, having owned a quarter-incher and now own position control, I will say that it makes absolutely zero difference for my uses of the tractor. But that is not the case for everyone -- best example would be with a bush hog or rear mower. All the implements I use on the rear are used in float position, and there is no practical difference.

I think I would go with the Kubota for the soul reason of the HST transmission ( and I like Kubota ). The extra lift capacity of the Kioti would be nice, but life is too short for a manual transmission in a compact tractor.

s219 beat me to it. I have a B3350 with position control, nice for rear rotary cutters and box blades. I had a BX before, and in fact still have on at my company in CA. A couple of limit chains on the 3 point lift arms will accomplish what position control does for lifting the mower deck and putting it right back in the same spot. Position control is a little more convenient, but both work fine.

I checked out Kioti's first, and think they make a good tractor. The Kubota fit my needs and requirements best, the lighter weight was a plus for me as it's easier to trailer.

The OP said in post # 11 both machines he is comparing are 3 range HST.

Plenty of aftermarket options right now will put the 3rd function control on the joystick, no need to wait.

Rear remotes control hydraulic functions for implements on the rear of the tractor, Hydro toplink and sidelink, hydro blade angle, all kinds. Very useful.

I find it hard to believe the CK3510 weighs 500lbs less than the CK35, which is what I have and I know it weighs well over 3000#.

I didn't realize they made the 10 series lighter than what they replaced, but indeed, tractordata.com lists your tractor as weighing "3042 to 3118 pounds" whereas the CK3510H weighs 2734. Of course the -10 series is pretty much all that is available. It surprised me he had a CK30HST, and was only $50 cheaper than the CK3510H. The CK30 had some more "stuff" on it, such as tilt steering and telescoping links, etc. The 5 more HP I thought I may as well get the 10 series - plus it had a horn! :cool2:

On the brand, of course I'm going to say Kioti, but for a reason. The CK35 was better than the Ls for the features and more tractor. The CK3510 doesn't have most of those, but it has one very important thing the kubota doesn't. Position control. I will never buy a tractor without it. It allows precision placement of the 3PTH, invaluable. Why Kubota won't put it on the base tractors I don't know, because almost every other manufactuer does. For that reason alone, even though the Kioti is better than the Kubota in other ways, I would get the Kioti.

The Kioti just seemed to be "more tractor" than the similar sized Kubota. I may have actually wanted to compare an L model, but the extra dollars kinda put it out of my comfort zone for price.

I really don't think the quarter-inching valve is a problem Ive used both (including in the teir3 version of the 3350su the 3300su) and could be very precise with either with practice.
Something to consider is how incredibly good the Kubota insurance it. It is essentially fault-free replacement insurance for the life of the loan even after the warranty exspires. My dealer had a customer who sunk their new mini excavator through the ice on his pond. Sat there all winter ti it could be pulled out. Kabota paid to replace all the electronics and wiring for nothing but the cost of the deductible ($200 I think).
Also, when I looked at Kioti in NH all the dealer were smaller and had not delt in Kioti very long.

Going to be calling the Kioti dealer after a bit. Currently sitting in Landstuhl, but can't wait to get home and get the thing ordered. Kubota guy never mentioned insurance available, something to ask the Kioti guy.

I believe I did ask the Kubota dealer about position vs. a 1/4 inching vlave, but am not sure. He did say the SU was priced as it was because there were fewer "goodies" to be had. Most here say the positioning valve is the way to go, but a few, like yourself, say the 1/4 inching is not an issue.

The Kioti dealer that I am dealing with is some smaller than the Kubota dealer, but has been selling Kiotis since 1995 IIRC.

A good heavy boxblade with scarifier teeth will work wonders for light grading, gravel areas, and ripping up small rocks and roots. I have a backhoe which automatically included two rear remotes- ask for these to be installed, to be used for TNT or to run hoses up front for a grapple (which I wish I had).
The HST pedal on the Kubota annoyed me, two separate pedals on the Kioti "felt" better and more natural. Ask to have the rears filled before delivery, you will have to decide what to have them filled with.

Don't be fooled by the horn button...no horn installed. The dash panel is used on several models and some features are not wired in- horn and parking brake light (lights on startup only)

Just joking that the horn was a big deal. I saw the button and asked if it does have a horn, or just the button, and he said it does have a horn. I will be doing a more in depth look at it when I get back home next week. Wife would like to see it too for that matter.
