The curl power is the only issue I heard anyone complain of. The other issue is the electric PTO, no modulation means no use with baler to me.

Curl was one issue, broken axles was another. Only ever heard of this issue with the DK-55 and I suspect it had something to do with the wheels/rim spacing in regard to the tractor itself. I think maybe all lines/colors might have a weak model which doesn't make the whole line-up bad.

I've only heard of broken axles in the big foreign market DK's, bigger than the 65.

I am new to this web site and am planning to buy a DK55C in the near furture. I'm now a little concerned after reading this post. Is the DK55C a realible tractor or do I need to be looking at a different model?

I live in Northern Idaho ( Couer D'Alene area ) and want a tractor with a cab due to the weather conditions.

We have never had any issues with the DK55 models, and have sold quite a few cab and non cab models. One of our DK 55 customers uses his in a landfill and is less than easy on the tractor. Haven't seen it back yet.

I'm down in Elk City and have the DK45 Kioti . Best dang tractor I ever owned and I have owned both colors of orange . If the 55 is anything like my 45 you should have many, many years of good service from her .

Thanks guys
I fell a bit better now /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. I've been looking at new tractors for about a month. Saw Kubota's and Newholland but they wanted 7 grand more for a comparable tractor. I would like to look at Mahindra's but there isn't any dealers up in this area.

I have heard Kubotas are prone to tipping on hilly terrain because of a narrow wheel width. I will be operating on hilly terrain and have my eyes on a Kioti DK55. Has a lot of features I am interested in like HP, Cat I&II hitch, lower exhauste pipe (not a stack)and a 69" width. Any input on this or any other tractor better suited for hilly terrain primarily to be used for large areas of grass cutting or hay.
